What can I do to speed my computer up?

I have two computers in the house they are both laptops and I also have a router I think the name of it is belkin...and we have dsl...I have the wireless computer because the other is hooked up to the modem...what can I do to get my computer to run faster because it runs so slow?

Delete the stuff on your computer that you don't use. Like documents and programs.

What is the specifications of your laptop PC?
My first suggestion would be to turn off those startup programs that you don't need during boot up..
After that, it would be advisable to defrag your laptop's hard disk...
Last but not least, see if you can upgrade the memory - if you are using 512MB memory, upgrade it to 1GB...

Does the computer run slow all the time or just when you are on the internet?
If it runs slow all the time you need to buy more RAM for it. If it runs slow just when you are on the internet it is because you have DSL. Nothing can be done to help you unless you switch to a cable modem.
