Does anybody have a UPS connected to their computer?
For those of you who dont know what a UPS is, it stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply. You connect it from the wall plug then you Pc monitor and Pc get connected into the UPS. Then when the Power goes out you have atleast 30 mins to turn off your pc.
I have a mecer 875 watt UPS. The guy I bought it from said it could easily hold a PC and a 24" monitor, but funny enough it only holds my pc, so when the power goes out I cant see what Im doing anyway...
What about you, has anybody here got a UPS?

hello gamingmaster, I know a little about UPS (uninterruptible power supply), but I'm still not using those power backup, for right now I'm only using a stavolt (also known as stabilistator), since in my country UPS is still pretty expensive for a home usage, it cost arround two or three times stavolt, so if I get black out all my worked data offcourse is gone with the electricity off, may be I will saving a few money to get that UPS for the future.

I did connect a UPS before on my computer but my monitor accidentally damaged when my UPS exploded. The technician told me that it was the explosion of the UPS which made my monitor became damaged. Since then i did not use a UPS anymore. It's not that i do not want to use because i still want to use it but i'm afraid already 'coz it might explode again. Im paranoid!!!!

I used to have one that was very seldom needed and then I had an outage and it didn't work. The batteries were still good, the unit had failed. A new one that would have a high enough wattage was too expensive so I just have a good surge protector and hope I don't lose much if there it is a power outage. Most computer save to the harddrive every so often anyway if you know how to set it up right and find the files, so you wouldn't lose much or you can just save work in progress often.
