What are interest rankings?

I have noticed a number of people with good interest rankings next to their name, and wondered what these actually mean. How are they rated? And do they add to your earnings at all? I'd be interested to find out!

You get levels which shows you understanding in a matter compared to other.More you discuss or post(mostly in topic and descreptive writting) more is your level and ranking.It doesn't help much in earning.I have got good levels in some and also very good rank but do not earn much.Earning increase if you discuss and respond as many as possible.The more the better.
