Cleaning a makeup brush

Is there any way to do this. I have a blush brush that was quite pricey and I would like to buy a new one, but don't want to spend the money.
Is there a way to clean the brush to get rid of collected bacteria?

Yes,once i saw a Tv show about beauty tips, they said that you can wash your brushes with liquid antibacterial soap, you put a little bit on a bowl with water and then you put your brushes and washed them in that water after that you have to put your brushes in another bowl with clean water and after that let them air dry,since then i have used that tip.
