No matter how hard I try to keep clean as I'm cooking my kitchen turns into a disaster area. I told my boyfriend that I should do a tv cooking show called *The Messy Cook*
Do I have company?
Also, do you clean up as you go while cooking? I always do this....I can't stand to come back to all the mess after eating...

I like the idea of the show..if you need a co-host let me know. My wife says that I mess up everything in the kitchen when I cook. I always try to make sure I have all the ingredients I intend to use, like onions and peppers and stuff, cut up and in bowls ready to go before I start cooking...and I usually don't try to wash dishes or anything as I go along, so it usually looks like a bomb went off in the kitchen by the time I am done. LOL

Oh, yes, I have to work really hard at keeping stuff picked up as I go along. Sometimes for just a little meal there are a mountain of utensils piled up in the sink. But don't feel bad, whenever I watched the famous cooking lecturer, Julia Child, cooking on TV it appeared that her utensils magically disappeared and then reappeared all sparkling clean right under our noses. There must have been an army of helpers just out of view of the camers.
We just need more kitchen elves, that is all.

That sounds exactly like me. I always end up spilling things when I'm cooking.
I generally deal with it when I'm finished. I can't clean when I go because I know I'm just going to spill more and I'll have to do it all over again.

I clean up as I go when cooking. I hate messes and especially I hate to clean up after eating a meal. I think it is easier to do the dishes and clean the counters as I go. Then I only have the dinner dishes to clean up later.

I am actually the clean cook in the family. I learned from my mom to clean as I go along, do dishes while I am waiting for something to cook, etc. My hubby now on the other hand is the messiest cook I have ever seen. He leaves me piles of pots and dishes, drips food all over the floor, it's a total disaster when he is done cooking...but at least he cooks :)

I have to confess, I am. I do try to clean as I go because after dinner, I want to relax, not clean.

I am not a messy cook because I prepare things and cleaning up them at the same time. So when the cooking time come, I can make sure all the things will be thrown in to my pan/pot. I don't like to see my kitchen messy that's why I am cleaning them while cooking or before starting my cooking. I wouldn't come back to clean my kitchen after food, because of course I'll directly became lazy as python after food.

My partner is the messy cook in this household. Although he is a great cook and makes some wonderful meals, the disaster zone in the kitchen is always left to me to clean up and it takes ages to get the kitchen cleaned up again after he has produced his culinary masterpieces.
I tend to be the one to clean as I go when I am cooking.

I have learned to clean as I go. I used to get so frustrated having so many pans and pots and so on piled up in the sink after cooking. I started cleaning up as I went along. It has helped and there is not so much to do after dinner. I have a dish washer so I rinse all of the things off as I am finished using them and put them in the dishwasher. WHen I didn't, during the cooking time while i was waiting, I would clean up what was dirty and stack them in the drainer. Dry them and put them away. That's helped me alot! How funny that would be to see you on tv as "The Messy Cook" hahahaha!

I too is a messy cook. Specially when there is a gathering in our house wherein i have to cook a several dishes. It turn out that i lost all my energy cleaning the mess i make in our kitchen, so when the visitor started coming im not a jolly host anymore because i was so tire already.

Well, I don't like a messy kitchen. And I try hard not to get it messy because I don't like to clean it later. But it does get a little messy...and I clean it as I go along...well, only the top part. I give a proper scrub after I am done cooking.
But I have a maid to clean now and don't bother about the mess too much because she cleans it up...and I find it's not as messy because she cleans as I do the cooking and it's cleaned up before it gets messy. It's easy for her as well as me this way. Indian cooking is messy anyways. But the days she doesn't turn up, I plan and try to keep the messiness to a minimum...because I can't clean up as soon as it gets messy.

Yes you have company because my kitchen always looks like a tornado hit it. I cook for six so I feel meals in large amounts so when I am cooking I always make a mess. I also have my kids in the kitchen with me as well so its hard to keep it clean and tidy when you have kids running back and forth and my ten year old daughter wanting me to teach her how to cook. But it doesnt matter what the kithen looks like as long as you get food on the table.
I try to pick up as I go but it doesnt always end up that way. If I dont clean it up right then and now then I will clean it up in the morning. I get up early to make brakfast for my family and thats when I have the most energy.
But my husband, he is ten times messier than me. He tries not to be messy but the harder her tries the messier it is.
But I wouldnt have my life any other way.

Yes!! But somethings that have helped is to have a sink full of hot soapy water to just dump the stuff that needs to be cleaned into, and to have a refuse bowl on the counter. That way I am not wasting time walking to the garbage every few minutes to toss scraps.

I've only started to learn how to cook and try out new recipes for myself because my parents never have time to cook for me anymore and I was tired of eating out all the time. I was so sick and tired of eating foods that I have no idea what had been put inside. So I tried cooking for myself. With a couple of burnt dishes and fires, I've finally gotten the hang of it. At first, my parents were scared because I'm a klutz so they thought that I'd burn the house down. But being a sophomore in high school, I thought that it was probably time to learn how to cook before I go off the college. Let me tell you, The kitchen after i cook, looks like a hurricane just went through. My parents always scold me because I use to many pots and plates to cook what I need to. I'm also the type of person who never cleans after I'm done with my concoction. lol learning how to cook was really fun though.

I'm a messy cook - I do try and clean up as I go along but there is always a pile still to do at the end of the meal....
