Hit and Run with a Mobility Scooter???

Ok I want to thank you all that were trying to help me get to sleep but just before I logged out I had a quick look at the news and just couldn't believe it when I read this article!
I know it sounds funny but this is serious - he knocks an old lady flying and then drives off, shouting he was busy and couldn't stop - the woman was lying in the road for pitys sake, anything could have happened to her - what do you think of this?

Hi mummymo! Gosh, I really don't know what to say! You hit someone and can't stop because you are busy or in a hurry? What kind of reasoning is that? I hope he learns his lesson well when now that he is charged. Just my thoughts! Take care and have a nice day! :)

I know I shouldn't laugh but how often does this happen? My gosh I can't imagine saying yeah a motor scooter broke my leg. I feel for the lady and think that this guy should recieve a ticket and a saftry course on how to drive a motor scooter. LOL!! do they even have courses for that. LOL!! have a nice one.

Some people are so dangerous even in something as slow as a motor scooter! As far as I know you don't get safety courses - I have to use either one of these or a wheelchair to go to the supermarket and I have to say they are really easy to stop - this guy should be left stuck at home for a while - Grounded_ and maybe then he'd be more careful! xxx

Wow I thought you had done a hit and run in the Scooter then
So even those are not safe anymore either but I should have known as the amount of times I have nearly been run over
It is awful and I think People need to start looking for their Concious and their Heart

Well said my angel! No it wasn't me, not yet anyway and I wouold like to think if I did have an accident like that I would at least try and get some help and not just keep going! Mind you next time you see mobility scooter in the heading of one of my discussions it will probably be that I have knocked over a whole display in the supermarket! xxx

how thought less of the man to darn busy to stop and help and old lady he just hit.
I dont care if it was a tricycle that hit her she now has a broken leg and wrist am hoping that he has to pay all hospital bills and any other treatment she might hqave to have and then jail time then maybe he wont be to busy to help someone in need!

Well there won't be hospital bills as we have the nhs but he should pay some form of compensation! I know as the guy was in a mobility scooter he may not personally have been able to help her physically but he could have gotten help and reassured her - heck he didn't even apologise! xxxx

Sweety I couldn't stop laughing until I realised that an elderly lady had been injured and left lying in the road as the driver thought he was in too much of a rush to stop or get her help! If that was my Gran I would be livid! I am just glad it was a man that did it and people couldn#t blame me - yep I have to use these to get round the supermarket and I tell you what if I didn't have steps outside my house I would get around in one! xxx

I think it is very sad that people feel they are too busy to help someone that they have caused injury to - specially an elderly lady who is probably very lucky not to be more seriously hurt - I just cannot understand the lack of compassion or any sense of responsibility for their actions! xxx

That is very sad news especially when he did not stop to see if she was ok or needed medical attention. I wouldn't be surprised if he has to do time for that. I hope she is going to be ok!

To an elderly lady any injury can be serious and I just cannot believe that anyone has anything that is so urgent they would not even try and get her help but would leave her lying in the road! I do pray she will be ok and if I hear any updates I will let you know! xxx
