Fruits and vegetables are cheaper and healthier for you as previous commenters have said. And these are also high in fiber. But don't forget your proteins. You can get this from beans, which are also cheap. At least half of your plate should be filled up with vegetables anyway. One fourth of your plate should be filled with cereal grains such as bread or rice. The other one fourth of your plate should be filled with protein. Then have a fruit for dessert after your meal.

I am able to eat and still be healthy by being frugle. Buy things in bulk and you often save money. Here are some tips i do all the time as needed. Try using non -fat canned milk for all your baking recipes. Spices- Buy herbs at the local grocery store, it doesn't matter if they are wilted you are gonna dry them anyway. When dry just crumble them and add to your spice jars. Spices usually run 1-4$ a bottle Herbs around 39 cents..Big Savings! Buy ingredients to bake bread- Bake several loaves and freeze them. Buy hamburger meat in bulk- make several casseroles and freeze them. During summer plant a garden and can your veggies to eat in winter. Also, instead of using those harsh cleansers with tons of chemicals in them - use white vinegar with equal parts of water to clean your home. Vinegar is good for alot of different useful things also. Use froogle.com to compare prices online for shopping for lots of different items needed These are just some misc. suggestions that I use as needed when funds are low and have gotten quite use to doing them until now we save money monthly.

Well I guess it depends on what the prices are like in your country, and what foods you really like, as fruit and vegetables are usually cheaper than meat so that is a good start, add a little fish which is a must even canned so i guess you can but you would have to maybe even buy things on special, good luck my friend.
