I wish our country had credit card rewards like in the US...

I've been shopping around for a cash back credit card lately, and have been a little annoyed that all the really good cards are only available in the US (I'm in Canada). In the US there are plenty of cards that give you up to 5% of your spending back in cash. But in Canada, most cards will give you only 0.5% or 1%. I don't understand why there's such a huge difference between the type of cards available. A 5% cash back card is unheard of hear.
Anyway, after a lot of shopping around I finally managed to find a tiered card that starts at 0.5% and goes up to 2%. So I guess that's as good as the reward cards get here!

I have the Visa Dividend and I use it to pay for my Rogers Cell phone service and for a couple of magazines, but I wish I could get more. One percent is just peanuts. I decided to upgrade my Zellers card to HBC Mastercard. At least there I will be getting some things from the catalog. But to only get a dollar or so at the end of the year, is not worth it. Oh by the way, what kind of card did you get?

I ended up going with an american express card. It had the best rewards that I could find.
