Watch out for the high-tech Thieves at ATM centers

I just read news from the Philippines.A new modus on ATM bank clients has members of the banking sector worried.Police are warning automated teller machine(ATM)users about a gang dubbed "ATM Thieves" that lift information using skimmer devices and later uses the information to withdraw the money.The gang reportedly install a skimmer device in front of the ATM card slot thats seems to be part of the ATM machine.They also install a wireless camera that resembles a leaflet holder to view the personal identification number(PIN)that is being encoded by a user into the machine.Members syndicate wait at a nearby car and receive the transmitted information from the skimmer device and copy these into ATM cards.After gathering the pertinent information,the group copies the cards and uses the PINs to withdraw thousands of pesos from accounts in a very short time from the bank's ATM.
