is a 5 year anniversary not worth celebrating?

My dear sweet, dumb husband, made the mistake of telling me that our anniversary is "not that big a deal" and that I "am making a big deal over nothing". Did I hear him correctly? Every time that I try to plan a little something, he blanks out. Last night he started a Wii Game while I was in the middle of a sentence. Do you think if I got him pliars (to pull the stick out of his bum) that would be an appropriate anniversary present?--

I'm sorry to laugh but great post. I feel the exact same way.
But I'll be in mid sentence and get "sorry i have to go take a shower" lol
They don't think its a big deal becaues they don't want the stress of finding gifts. It's a big deal in their own way.
Idiots..lol

My husband stopped at the bar on his way home from work on our 5th anniversary. Granted - we had made plans for the weekend, and weren't doing anything that night, but still... When he got home I called the guy he was out with and thoroughly embarrased my husband. Most men don't worry about the details like anniversaries and date nights. They just take for granted that since they let us wash their underwear we are intimately involved. I do have to admit my husband knows how to kiss up -- he came home a couple days later with a gift certificate for a day at the spa, and a promise to stay home with the kids while I went.
I'd hide the controller - and tell him he gets it back after 15 minutes of real conversation. It's not much, but its a start.

Pliars up the bum would be a perfect anniversary present! The man doesn't realize what a clever wife he has! =P
Seriously though, you may want to just shut the Wii off and sit down and talk with him. Make sure you have his full attention and let him know that celebrating your time together is important to you and what he said was hurtful. Hopefully he will come around.

Five years is metal right? :)
I think he is just not happy anymore in our marriage. I asked him yesterday if we could go out and watch the Superbowl today..like a date and everything. He said he was tooooo busy. I was in the shower today, and he left to go to the mall. He is getting wierder by the minute..Is there a full moon?

i would like to say that some men do not under stand the way we do about these things. but i think that will just give them a big excuse to keep doing it .i guess i dont get it either you can talk until you cant talk any more and they still leave you siting there like you dont know what your talking about.
