what would be the impact of microsoft's acquisition of Yah00!! ??

hello every one.... i have heard that yahoo employees will be on microsoft's payrolls shortly..... microsoft has proposed to buy yahoo for a big sum,that made yahoo think of accepting the proposal. yahoo suffered with poor quarter results and its share value hit all time low..... how this change may effet the software professionals?? sun microsystem promoter of java, yahoo implements java in their most applications,but microsoft has intentions to promote .NET,which is on similar lines of java....... I also heard that sun microsystems hold a good potion of share in yahoo.... so can the sun microsystems can prevent the deal happen?? so what could you feel about this change??
