Pet Peeves

We all have little things that irritate us to no end. For me it used to be my children misplacing their shoes. We would get ready to leave and sure enough one of them couldn't find a shoe and so pretty soon everyone in the house is scouring for this lost shoe. It got to the point my children didn't dare tell me lest we started playing "Duck and Dodge". I told them that unless they had lost a foot they had better not have lost the shoe that belongs to it. My other pet peeve is when you are typing away on your computer, words are flying, the birds are singing and then wham everything suddenly dissapears. There is no begging, there is no cajoling and no matter how hard you hit the back button your words aren't going to reappear. So what is it that irritates you beyond repair?

i can't stand noise when i'm working and meeting a deadline. it gives me the worst headache at the most inconvenient of times.
when i work at home during weekends coz i have to meet a dealine on a monday morning that means no play for jill. but weekends, my nephew and nieces would all be playing... and quarelling... literally raining cats and dogs. the noise would simply irritate me. not the giggles and laughters because those are music to the ears... what irritates me is the constant arguing and raising of voices and children madly screaming at each other for not being able to have their own way.
i'd turn nuts. :)

yeah some parents do that. :) it's like they don't see it the way other people see the screaming and running children. either they're also fed up at these children so they don't bother to stop these kids or they think it fun to let the kids run loose. :)

I have worked in retail quite a bit and I hate it when kids are arguing and running around the store chasing one another and the parents do nothing to stop them.

I scream when that happens, and why does it always happen when you've typed in a well thought out and very lengthy response and suddenly whoooosh! It's gone! Now when I have typed out something before posting it I copy and paste! But I still get caught out! Other peeves are when you are about to sit down to a meal and the phone starts to ring, it's like they know, they are watching, waiting for you to sit down and then they've got you! And why is it whenever I get on a train someone always comes onto the same carriage as me with their mobile/cellphone stitched to their ear and talking so loudly that the whole train can here and it's amplified cos he's sitting near or next to me!

Yes, absolutely. I have had all of the above happen to me too and you are right it is very irritating. Or when you are trying to talk to someone about something that is important to you and their phone rings completely interrupting the conversation.

My boyfriend does that, and it irritates me to no end. I am always having to tell him to turn his blinker off, so I can just imagine how the person behind him feels. I also agree with the rest of your peeves. Another peeve is when parents teach their children to be rude or allow them to communicate the parents ignorance.

I really hate people that have issues in their lives that make it their mission to make you miserable just because they're miserable. It gets old rather fast too. It's like they feel they are the only person that exists, and because they feel one way, you should too. It's like they haven't gotten over the egotistical stage that happens when you're a toddler. Sad really, but realyl annoying all at the same time.

I've known people like that, from the time you start up a conversation its nothing but negative and how the world is out to get them and its everybody elses fault. You almost hate to see them coming.

Well yes! Its irritating when your well thought-out posting disappears right before your eyes. And when My billfold is not in its proper place and I Can't remember which pair of pants I had on yesterday. But I never let these things get me down, because I know like it or not, I'm to blame. When the actions of others get hard to take, I try to put myself in their shoes. Nobody ever does anything that they deem wrong. It only appears to be wrong from our viewpoint.

Well here is a perfect example, I answered this once, hit the "post comment" button, just to come back and not find my response. Hmmm........very strange, but at least I caught it and I certainly won't take it too seriously.

I really hate it when your with someone and for whatever reason something u did completly in the other person presence goes wrong and immediatly they say "i knew that was going to go wrong". Youre left there thinking well if you knew something was going to go wrong shouldnt you hvae said something sooner. Or what worst is when they give u advice on what u should of done sometimes obvious advice after the fact.

I think those kind of people invite disaster and in some regard embrace it. It sounds like people who react in that manner are just plain negative.
