Hey guys! Good day everyone!!c",)
I heard from friends that drinking very cold water after eating makes us fat. And it's unhealthy because the cold water freezes the fat from the food we take and that would stick to our intestines and would cause health problems. They recommend drinking clean tap water or mineral water.. One friend say to drink hot water after eating for proper food digestion. I love drinking cold water but if this were true, i would definitely not drink cold beverages anymore...
Do share your views friends? Do you agree or are these facts about cold water? Thanks in advance...

This has been widely circulated through forwarded emails and text messages. I felt that it did not have any scientific basis, hence I checked it out at snopes.com . Sure enough, it's false. Here's the link: http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/coldwater.asp

I've heard that from friends too a long time ago and I've been unconsciously following it up to this day. What I just noticed pal is that, whenever I drunk luke warm water after eating, I don't feel bloated at all compared to drinking a cold one. I guess it helps?. ;)

LOL.. Food is not like humans, once food is in your stomach, they will be digested in the intestines and cold water definitely wun have any freezing effects on your food, my fren.. hehe.. Food only stays in the intestines when it's not digested or u din chew your food properly b4 swallowing and it causes indigestion instead.. So it wun make u fat :)
Drinking of hot water or hot tea after eating is good because tea contains some minerals which helps to digest the food :) hehe

For sure drinking hot tea is helping you to digest food better....so you can have less chance to deposit fat.
It is not true that cold water is making you fat.
Drinking soda after meal is making you fat.
If you drink soda after eating meat, you have soap in your stomach....

i think this is stupid because unless you're drinking that has some calories in it like fruit juice or something, you will not get fat. drinking water cold water is the same thing as drinking warm water. water, whether hot or cold has no calories so it can't make u fat. i agree that you might gain wait but as long as u perspire or excrete the water that you drink, you would be back in normal weight.

I do believe that drinking hot beverages are good for you, because it would flush out the fat faster. That is the only thing that it would do, not that it would cure us of any other diseases. You have to do the research, though, and not rely on anyone else's superstition. And it would be what the water contains. Certainly if the water were boiled and it is cooled off just a bit to be warm, it is free of any germs and that could be a factor.

Even if it is true I'll still be drinking cold water, because our country is at the equator and it can get very hot so we don't have much choice.

Wow, that is interesting and i hear this for first time. Actually i hear that when you drink cold water, you are burning fat , because your body nned to warm this cold water to temperature of your body and in this proces , your body is burning calories. but now when you come with this information i have no idea, which one is right, but I guess none of that. I don't think either cold water or warm water has suuch big influence on us and can couse you to be fat or skinny.

I really think so too. I believe it's the food that we eat and too much fat in our food makes us fat and of course slow metabolism.c",) Thanks for responding dear.

cold water may not make you fat but it certainly can be a shock to your system. i've known people who felt like they were overheating and then downed a glass of ice water to cool off - only to have their body immediately reject the water and vomit it up. so while it may not have anything to do with weight loss, drinking room temperature water still seems to be the best option for your body.

sheesh... where did it come from? as we all know, water is a solvent and our body is on a negative pressure. somehow, if you drink cold water, it will just go be spread up to cleanse our body. how will it freeze the fats in our body since that cold water will eventually be drawn to a warm one because of the temperature and presuure of our body. wow, so if you drink anything cold especially when you just ate, it will freeze your fats? duhh...
anyway, have you ever had a cold urine because you drank cold water? nope, right? that's a simple rationale and example behind.

Wow, my understanding is that drinking cold water will help burn calories since your body must burn calories to warm up after drinking cold water.
I personally would not go along with the cold water solidifes fat -- the acid in your stomach and the bacteria in your intestine will take care of it.

Umm I drink a lot of cold water after eating something hot and I don't think its made me fat LOL i blame the fat buildup on other bad foods that I've eaten. I have never heard that statement before.

The only thing drinking cold water does, is make your body work harder to heat it up to body temperature. So if you ate a meal, then drank cold water, instead of digesting food your body would be busy heating up the water, so it would slow down the digestive process.
That is why on hot days, or after a work out, you should drink room temperature, or body temperature water. That way your body stays hydrated, but doesn't spend any extra energy to heat up the cold water.
Water no matter what temperature, doesn't make you fat.

It does sound like a true statement however I'm not sure to say that it is. I wonder where we can look to see if it is true or not. It would be really something to find out for sure.

I dont really think that can be true because whenever you eat something it starts digesting right away from what I have heard before...and as far as the cold water freezing the food...I think that your body is suppose to be at a certain temp. at all times anyway I think I have heard something about ninty eight degrees and something not sure about that but it sounds right...so I dont think that that can be true because once the cold water hits its going to warm the water up...so I would say that it isnt true
