Sausage links vs. patties

I know the tastes are similar, but do you prefer sausage patties or links? I like the patties best, they are more like a good meaty bite and they get crisp on the outside and still moist inside. The links seem to get more dred out than the patties. Perhaps it's the way I prepare them, but what do you prefer, links or patties?

I prefer patties, too, especially on a biscuit, topped with gravy.

Good morning! When I ate breakfast sandwiches from fast food, I would get the sausage/biscuit/egg and cheese.....but the sausage and gravy biscuit sounds good too. I have been wanting biscuits and gravy for about a week now. I'll have to take my sausage patties out of the freezer and just make them tomorrow. My Aunt made biscuits and gravy for us in July (remember) and the Pioneer mix was not too bad. I can not find that box mix here, but they have the packets that makes 2 cups, but it costs a dollar for one packet. I thought about asking my Aunt to buy me a box and send it up here, but it evidently has not been that important to me. Maybe I can make gravy from bacon drippings?

I certainly do remember. Mom has bought frozen sausage gravy, I think at Meier, but I haven't seen that here in the grocery store. I use the mix in the little packets when I do make it, can't remember what brand, because I've never been very good at making it myself from sausage drippings. We usually eat ours out - breakfast is our favorite meal to eat out. We go to Braum's, which I'm sure you don't have, but there are Braum's dairy stores in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. They sell the gravy, too, and I can't remember now if it's in a mix or if it's frozen. If you can't find it, I'm sure our favorite aunt would be very happy to send you some. Gosh, you're making me hungry!

I know, I am hungry too. I just showed my log home and she had brownies out (home made brownies)........anyway, of course I had one, now I want something salty / savory.
Yes, I don't mind buying the packet things sometimes, but when you can buy bulk at a better price I would much rather do that. I'll have to check Wal Mart, Meijer and Giant Eagle before I ask someone of my southern relatives to look for that country gravy mix for me :)

Patties. The links seem to cook so fast and burn - I watch them, but seems to get the inside done, the outside burns. Plus, not much you can do with a link unless you make "secret dogs" and use the link instead of the hotdog, but the links are just to dry for much flavor
Now, patties - lots you can do with them, they are easier to cook. I love eto make my own breakfast sandwiches....bake up a roll of buiscuits (10), cut the sausage roll into 10 patties and cook, then assemble...biscuit bottom, salsa, slice of cheese (a piece of cheese same size as biscuit) sausage patty, piece of cheese, salsa, biscuit top. I then put each one in a small plastic baggie and twist it closed tightly. I do this with all 10 sandwiches. Then I put all ten sandwiches into a quart size freezer bag and freeze them! I take out 2 every morning, (well, not every morning although I'd love to have them every morning, but I do watch the calories and all) but take the frozen sandwich out of the bagie, wrap it up in a napkin, and nuke it for 35 seconds. Absolutely perfect!!! Okay, Janis...you have to stop asking these kinds of questions! I now have a craving for these and I have none of the ingredients!! Forget chocolate, give me buisuit sandwiches!!!!

HA! If I had my choice, I'd go for the buscuit sausage sandwich over chocolate too :) Your recipe sounds real good and so easy to pop into the microwave and heat u from the freezer. I used to buy the roll sausage, but have gotten lazy and purchase the individually made one's in the long flat package, then pull them out of the freezer when ever I want them. I have to have them for breakfast tomorrow with all of this talking! I'll just get up extra early to get all of it done.

I also prefer the patties. I have never been a fan of the links. I have probably eaten links less than a dozen times n my life. I like the crispy outside and still moist inside of a patty too. I love biscuits and sausage gravy. My dad used to make it for us on Sunday mornings when I was growing up.
