How could you not help?

When I saw this video I was shocked...by a couple of things. 1, by the actual attack in the video. But I was also shocked that in a room full of people (mostly men!) that they wouldn't help this poor guy! If I was there I don't think i would be able to just stand there! I would just hope this guy wouldn't hit a girl.

Yeah, I would have at least called 911 when her boyfriend came in. He didn't start punching immediatly-you can tell the video skipped around a little bit. If someone had called the police they might have gotten there before or as it was happening.

Oh of course. He gets 4 years behind bars! I'm not sure that'd be enough for me if I was the victim. But I gotta say that is nice to know he had that kind of punishment.

That was horrible. The girls actions were worse than anyones. She should have kept quite, she was looking for trouble. You would think that the guys would have tried to step in. As for the manager, it was apparent that he was scared of the guy. They should of at least called the police. I cannot believe those guys would not have ganged up on him, but they probably were afraid the others would not help and did not want the pulp beat out of them. I am glad he went back to prison. I hope the girl thought it was worth it.

Yeah, that girl was a real...you know what lol. She should have ignored what the guy was saying on his phone, and she shouldn't have thought she had the right to cut everyone in line.
I'm glad that guy went back to jail too! He obviosuly is dangerous and has some temper issues. I think the girl should have gotten in trboule too. After all, she did hit the guy twice. I wish the video would have said what happened to her.
I think if the people in the store saw 1 or 2 people go to intervene, they would have helped. But I could be wrong =P

Wow, that was shocking--I can't believe that absolutely nobody tried to help. That is just crazy. Not even the manager who seemed to be doing his job when he chased the woman out the first time, then he did NOTHING??? Not even sound the alarm or call for back up. That is just too strange!

Yeah I think the manager should have stayed out with the customers and tried to show the guy that he is boss in his restruant. I'm not sure the guy would have hit the manager, but who knows, really. There's what, 10 other people in that place that could have jumped the guy after the first hit?

You can rest assured that a jerk like that most certainly WOULD hit a girl and probably has.
I think the one mostly in the wrong in this was the girlfriend. You can't act like that and that woman should be ashamed of herself, but then, I think it's a statement on the lower standard of conduct that we hold ourselves to today.
There was a time when such a thing would never have been tolerated, not so today. Unfortunate though it may be, this sort of thing happens more and more often.

Yeah, you might be right. But still I wouldn't have been able to just stand around. Who knows how far that guy would have gone! I wouldn't want to have to watch a murder happen right in front of my face. I would try to intervene.
I think the woman and the man were both in the wrong. The woman shouldn't have assumed she could cut everyone without getting remarks. She should have ignpred the guy on his cellphone, she shouldn't have called her boyfriend in. She was a b**** anyways lol. But the boyfriend had no right to take that first swing, the guy wasn't even paying attention when it happened, he was looking down at his phone!

that was pretty brutal. i think the other guys didn't help because they were scared of that huge man! all the other men in there were little. and they were probably just like, omg what is going on. in shock. but the lady was sooo wrong to go get him in the first place. she was the one hitting him!! acting all crazy. just because she has a uniform on she has the right to get in front of people, i don't think so. lol and she new what her boyfriend was going to so obviously.

Yeah she wouldn't have called him in there if she didn't want him to do something. I think she was stupid-and I think the victim held himself pretty well while she was yelling at him and getting in his face. You can even understand his anger after she hits him in the face. He did not deserve that kidn of beating!
I know the suspect was defeniatly a lot bigger than the other guys in that place, but if all of them grabbed him and helped, they could easily get him off. Hit him behind the knees or something, he'll drop too! lol

you are so right!!
yet brutality, cruelty, just plain nastiness are so common that we tolerate them!!!
shocking, yes!!!
what is more shocking is that if we were there, i doubt if we would have made a difference!!!
i pray that this be the catalyst that would change us to do better!!!
be kinder to our fellowmen as we are kind to our pets!!!

I think if I grabbed one of his arms it would at least distract him. And then maybe after the other people in the place realized a girl got invovled they'd help =P lol. But I just wouldn't be able to stand around and do nothing if I was there, whether I made a difference or not
