Do you think that the type of music you listen to defines the type of person you are? I dont think so at all. A friend of mine was in the car with me the other day and I had my ipod on. It was just me and her without the kids so I wasnt paying attention to what was playing on my ipod. She and I are really good friends and have different tastes in music and movies but we dont let that hinder our friendship. Korn happend to be the next artist on my ipod and she was in total shock. She asked me why I would listen to such trash and said that she was very suprised that I would listen to hate music like this. She was also shocked at all the foul language on it. So I turned off the ipod and said I didnt mean to offend her. She said she wasnt offended but more less shocked because I wasnt a hateful person. The person she knew was sweet and caring and considerate of others. So she then started looking at what was on my ipod and started shaking her head. She just couldnt believe such a sweetheart like me could listen to this type of music.... Well I listen to all types of genere of music but I dont let the type of music I listen to define my personality.... I dont believe in censorship of music or blaming the music industry for the problems that are going on in the world. I was able to listen to what I wanted to and I turned out just fine. Here is a sample of what is on my ipod..... Kiss, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, The Doors, Montley Crue, Billy Idol, U2, Radiohead, Korn, Godsmack, 80s music, Pink Floyd, Poison, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Guns and Roses, Duran Duran, Def Leppard, Creed, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Black Crowes, The Beatles..... I think this is a diverse group of music but I dont think it changes me in any way.... What about you, do you think the type of music you listen to defines your personality.

It doesn't defines who you are.Musical taste is just a part of who you are.I like all types of music, I always been interested in all types of music. I play classical. I sing country, and I usually listen to rock and roll.Music should match your mood and you are freed to like any type of music. I feel sorry for your friend. If she thinks that only angry, uneducated people listen to hard rock, then she might have a problem when her teenager starts liking rap.

well, I basically consider that one's favourite music type defines his/her character, though we may like to listen to other kinds of music that we don't often listen at some occasions. And I think everyone must have his/her most favourite music type. We can judge who kind of person he/she is. For example, i like traditinal, folk, country and light music, I am a very gently man.As for pop music and rock music, I also like to lishen to them.

Okay Jacque. I play classical, sing country, and love to rock out to hard rock and punk. What does this say about me. Are you now a fraid of me because I love hard rock? ps.I also have a favorite opera, Carman.

Just out of curiosity, did you happen to ask what she considered to be 'sweet, caring, considerate' music? I can't really see anything fitting that description, except for maybe hymns and nursery rhymes. Defining yourself based on music is a little ridiculous. I know there are songs that I feel that I can relate to, but there isn't any particular artist or album that I feel the need to point to and say 'Yep, that's me. Right there. All me.' I don't think music artists even define themselves by what sort of music they produce. Then again, I could be saying this because I'm like you. Putting my eclectic ipod on shuffle is a little like interviewing someone with multiple personality disorder. (Which, I assure you, would not be me. :P)

I too just listen to what's fancy or what I'm up to listening at the moment, not necessarily self defining. I listen to local, internation music, different types as well since its sometimes better at different times. I don't intentionally place a record, I am somewhat that radio listener who just turns on the player and let it play whatever record it could run. I too haven't turned into the content of some of the music I hear. Just some but, not all ^_^

My ipod is pretty eclectic, like yours. Then at the same time I can be found cooking to Kiss in the Kitchen and cleaning to country in the bathroom. I think it makes me more diversified. :)
