To Catch a Predator

I know that this must have been an old episode of "to Catch a Predator", but had to just ask why..?-- Some moron tipped off the area in which the show was filming (via Craigslist)to let everyone know that they were in town filming. Who would do this? Why would you help an offender, that is e-mailing 13 year olds? I'm I out of the loop on this?
