Something I've discovered about learning another language...

When learning numbers, when i hear, for example, "Ocho", i think like this:
ocho=eight=8
instead of thinking "ocho=8" like a native spanish speaker, i think of the english spelling translation first. This makes for some very slow tranlations.
Anyone else notice this with other languages or with spanish?
