My wife is 26 weeks pregnant and she is having some yellowish discharge and i posted the discussion yesterday and many respondents adviced that she should see her doctor. That same yesterday she went to see him and she asked her to do a scan. The result of the scan is as follow: FOETAL = ACTIVE GENDER = MALE EDD = May 10, 2008 +-2WEEKS EPL = RECEPTATIVE PLACENTA = POSTERIOR There are other things i could not remember now. Though, we agreed that she will see the doctor again next week. Do you have any suggestion or advice for us?

if everything looks ok, and a doc said it was fine then you guys shouldn't worry.. the more you worry the worse it can be. discharge is VERY normal in pregnancy... being yellow is alright too.. i think once it turns to more of a green then its bad.. its defiantly good to check up on it again next week.. but don't worry to much. if the baby is alright thats all that matters.

hi, you know I'm a mother of 6years old and 11months old. I've been through that situation and through my experience it's very normal.relax and don't worry. she has a discharge because of the hormones.she should change her under ware if it's wet (because of the discharge) it should always dry. it happened to me also and that's my doctor's advice. hope it can help.:)

thanks for the advice. many say it is normal, though some people says it is infection. i have told her to see doctor next week.

First, congratulations to you and your wife. Well, this seems to be normal....but I think they do some other tests for a discharge...like urine test. Anyways, whatever you've noted is normal at pregnancy. Maybe the part you can't remember is what is important to the discharge problem. Anyways, the doctor knows your wife's condition better and will be able to advice you better. I never had any discharge for both my pregnancies....except for slight bleeding in my first trimester for my first. But I followed the doctor's advice and had a normal delivery.

oh thanks alot for the advice. actually she also spotted during her first trimester and it was under control. it is the discharge that we are so concern about because this is her first child. next week i will tell her to see a doctor.

There's no need to keep sending her to the Dr ever week, she should just go whenever the Dr says she needs to see him. I believe it's every 4 weeks until about 30 weeks & then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks & after that it's every week. Or something like that, my daughter was born in 2006 so it was a while ago now! We're 17 weeks along with baby #2 now so i'm still only seeing my Dr ever 4 weeks. You needn't go all the time, obviously things are going just fine, if they weren't, you'd have been told :) You guys just need to relax a bit & let nature do what it has done for SO MANY years & try to enjoy the whole thing. Also, you don't want to be going to the Dr for no reason, especially if there's nothing wrong & you're just taking up a spot that someone else might REALLY need. Relax, enjoy & everything will be fine!

Tell the doctor to check for the placenta liquid level is correct? My wife almost had a misscarriage because her placenta liquid had gotten down and my son was at risk. If we would of waited one more day my son would of not made it.

Congratulations on the pregnancy! Discharge is normal for women any time, including during pregnancy. White to yellow is usually ok. However if it is slightly greenish or if it has a very strong odor - either fishy or sour - that is usually a sign of an infection. Fishy is usually bacterial, sour is usually yeast, both of which are easily treated with antibiotics prescribed by the doctor. -Tink
