WASHINGTON- Baby lotion, powder and shampoo can lead to concentration to an infant's body of phthalates, chemicals link to allergies and altered reproductive development,a study showed.
The study conducted at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital Research Institute found babies treated with common infant care products such as
lotion, shampoo and powder were more likely to have phthalates in their urine than other babies.
Researchers at the university measure the level of nine different phthalates in urine samples collected from 163 infants, age two months to 28 months, and had the babies mother fill out questionaires on their use of infant care products in the previous 24 hours.
The scientist found that atleast one phthalates was present in every baby's urine sample, and that using baby powder, lotion and shampoo were strongly associated with higher phthalates level in the urine.
Now that we know these do we still have to use it for our self or for our baby's skin?. Me i grow up using with lotion and powder and i dont think i can go on with my life without those. How bout your opinion on this matter?..

That is bad. Most babies, including mine are using at least one of those products. Did they mention specific brands that have these problems or all of the brands out there are tainted as well?
