How many will sachin take before he retires? / myLot

now that sachin tendulkar has made more than 16000 runs in one day cricket, how many more do you think he will make before he retires from ODI's? I think if he plays till the next world cup he might even endup making 20000 runs just from one day internationals. Also tell me if any other player can ever surpass his record for the most number of runs in ODI's? I think the future players of any form of cricket be it one day internationals or test matches will struggle to make atleast 10000 runs, because the game is played in such a manner that players will not be able to play long enough to challenge the batting records that sachin has made. I think his records are going to be remembered for a long long time, not just by our generation but also by people who has not seen him play. What do you think? How great is Sachin Tendulkar and how would you rate him amongst the other greats of the game of cricket?

yeah sachin is a great cricket player and i think he will reach about 18000 runs before he retires..... and his record will not be broken for the reasons you specified.... i would rate him to be higher than bradman

yes i do believe that he will make more than 18000 runs before he calls it a day... he is still the best player of the team so the question is...should we talk about his retirement at all!!???

sachin tendulkar-god of cricket.........may go on to play upto 2011 world cup....and if he continues to score runs ,like he scored from past 6-8 months,and if he plays all the games plyed by india he may touch at least 19000 runs (assuming he scores about 1000 runs per year and 3 years to go)..... I think sachin tendulkar is greatest player than sir don brad man apart from his magical average of 99.96.....as sachin has been playing cricket since 20 years of international cricket.... i dont think there will not be any batsmen of caliber sachin has....and it will be very difficult for india to get substitute for the master batsman...... i am sure that no player can break sachins record of highest scorer in odi's......

how can everyone expected in this blog that sachin will score 4000 ODI runs in just over 3 yrs.. even staying in very great form for over a long period of time of over 3 yrs, one needs to play around 90-92 ODIs to score 4000 (avg around 46-47 in that case in ODIs in 90 matches!!) in ODIs & for that in just about 3 yrs to play 90 odd matches atleast makes 30 ODIs per year since late 2007 to 2011 march & for that sachin would had to play all the ODIs INDIA played during this period & even may still then be falling by a few matches.. he has skipped all the ODIs since feb 2010.. so one should comment at late 2007 that sachin may finish with around 18000 odi runs as he was around 16000 in late 2007.. now as we all know he may get just around 18000 or may fall just short of it, depending whether he will skip the ODIs in SOUTH AFRICA in jan 2011 as well & play ODIs directly only in WORLD CUP.. well the real interest is now then lies on whether he will score 100 international 100s or not & the answer is, he should must get it now as he has already got 95 & so called week NZL side now test series coming up of 3 matches if somehow by not missing 100s by getting out in 80s & 90s, tendulkar gets 2 more 100s in this series, he will get 51 100s in test & getting of 100 international 100s will be even brighter then.. depending on how long sachin will play tests(upto whole 2011 or part of 2012 as well), he may get 15500 or even 16000 test runs but 15000+ test runs should be assured with 52-53 100s at this stage for sachin.. all the best buddy & wish u all the best for the WORLD CUP which has always been ur dream as well as whole nation's..

SACHIN is a great batsmen in both forms of cricket.when he had tough times he responds to his critics by bat.Sachin had scored his first one day ton in his 74 th game.After that he scored many tons. IT WILL B A GREAT ACHCEVEMENT IF HE REACH 50 hundreds in ODI.He can be called as the good friend of records.He has a number of records.I think he could even reach 20000 in ODI if he plays for 3 YEARS.

I think Sachin Tendulkar is one of the best cricket World had seen. I have recently read that Sachin Tendulkar had completed 20 years in World cricket. I think most probably Sachin Tendulkar will play for another three to four years. I think Sachin Tendulkar most probably will play the next World Cup. I think Sachin Tendulkar will most probably get 20,000 runs in ODI cricket.

Hello, earncommunity! Sachin is undoubtedly great with his bat.he is the only player who has 16000 runs at his credit.and his body language is perfectly alright and it is possible that he will make another 4000 runs before the world cup 2011 and if he does this no body will dare to reach that level in the days to come.regarding rating, i must say, it is impossible to rate such a great player because he is above all the ranks.thank you.long live Sachin.

Ya ofcourse he gna get 20000 if he is for next world cup for sure...he is yhe god of batsmanship...none can surpass him as i think 50 overs match gna fade in fu years and 20-20 gna conquer so ter is no chance a cricketer gna surpass tendulkar....i wud rate him 10 out of 10......
