I recently read this article, thanks to a mylot member who posted it last week. It's called "27 Things". Check it out, it's great. Basically, you dedicate 9 days of which you are getting rid of 27 things every day. You can goodwill, ebay, give, trash or freecycle 'em, whatever. Just get rid of the stuff. I figured this is something that I needed and wanted to try. I started on Sunday and figured this would be easy because I have a ton of stuff to get rid of. It's also an early start to spring cleaning.
HA!

It's harder than it sounds. I have a box in my kitchen for these things. Today is Tuesday, and there are only 4 things in that box. One of which I'm tempted to take back out. So, I've come to realize that I have an addiction and I'm hear to confess.
Hi. My name is StarAngel and I'm a packrat. I also have a big procrastination problem.
(The pic is dedicated to me. lol)
Here's the website:

Can you do it?

I have clothes from like 5 years ago that i still ahve...plus all my kids pictures that she drew when she was 2 years old, Plus I hate throwing out stuff that I think I migth need later on...for something...i don't even now what...lol. But ihave been getting better. My hubby hates clutter so we clear out stuff alot plus we are moving in july so i will be going through things and have a yard sale every weekend so that should help out with stuff....Good discussion!!!

Welcome to Things Anonymous, Mag. I should've called it Packrats Anonymous. lol.
That is my goal today--going through my closet. I have to just face it and realize that I will not be wearing the same clothes that I wore before I had my children. lol. That's just relying on false hope.
I also feel the same way as you. I can't get myself to get rid of something, because I know that later on down the road, I will need it for something else. It's even harder, because I do crafts. and my craft collection isn't exactly small. lol. And, when I find something that I should get rid of, I know that I can use it in my crafts.
Thanks for your reply! Have a good day. :)

yes, I just went through my kids clothes. those are easy, because they're still growing. I found some clothes that had 2T on them. my kids aren't going to be that size again. When my firstborn started Kindergarten this year, he was a 4-4T, so I got him a bunch of school clothes. not even a month after starting school he hit a growth spurt and was suddenly a 5. I promise it was overnight. So, my youngest now has PLENTY of clothes. poor kid, never gets any new clothes for himself, but he's not old enough to complain, yet. lol. Because of the abundance, i was able to throw away the clothes that weren't in the best condition. For some reason, I can't do the same w/ my clothes. I can't do it w/ my husband's clothes, either. I've tried. lol. I don't have a problem going through their toys, either. I just have to do it when they're not around. They have so many little kids meal toys they never play w/. but, if they see it in the goodwill box, you can forget taking them out the door. lol
