What fantasy or speculative fiction of 2007 or 2008 should I read?

Life got too crazy and I basically stopped reading for pleasure several years ago. I want to get back into some good authors. I'm also thinking about getting back to writing fiction so I'd like to start with recently published books. I'm not just looking for a good read but great inspiring writing (too much to ask?).
What have you read lately in the fantasy or otherwise "speculative" genre that you loved?

Here are a few I would recommend:
Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (the best in fantasy writing AND reading, in my opinion)
Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series

I like paranormal fantasy, so I read a lot of Keri Arthur, Christine Feehan, Susan Sizemore. I also like thrillers by Catherine Coulter, Iris Johansen and J.D. Robb's books, of which I have everyone so far. I don't read as much as I used to as I have other interests as well. Hope these authors will inspire you.
