I am in the USA and would like to find out what other countries and peoples think about the year 2012 and all the things that are predicted to happen in that year. I am hoping in a exponential leap in world consciousness and love. I would be interested in anyone's thoughts on this.

My son asked me about this just the other day. I must confess, I had no idea. I need to do more research on the matter. However, I sure do hope if people think it is going to be the end of the world, they don't start acting stupid because ..... who cares, we won't be here 4 years from now.......yes, more research is in order.

Janis: You sound like you are willing to learn and that is all we can do with this issue though. It is food for thought and exciting if you absorb the right information. There are some "end of life" books out there but you have your choice of what you want to read. When I was young and growing up, I was taught about religous stuff out of this old raggedy fat black book called the Bible. I have been indoctrinated with this idea that life is eternal. I don't believe we die and go in a big hole in the ground. Our bodies do, but I think we are like an ice cube, kind a, we can be frozen, solid but mobile and gasseous like steam. Our spirits live eternally. I know it sounds immature, but I really believe life is eternal. I would recommend the Mayan Code to begin with. Contact me sometime. I am looking for a new house. PEACE
Janis: I tried to paste an address here where you could get a number of books about 2012. I can't paste in here till I get a rating above 500......I will hold on to the address until I hear from ya. Bye

Well, what exactly is predicted to happen in that year?
You need to be more specific when asking a question like that.
If you're referring to it being the end of the Mayan calendar, I think it stands to reason that they weren't predicting the end of the world in stopping their calendar creating there, but rather just stopped and said, "if we run out, we can make more later." I mean, think about it, we are far more advanced than they were and we only go a couple of years ahead of ourselves when we create them, so why would they go hundreds, if not thousands of years ahead when they could always make more later if they needed it?
More importantly, why in the hell do people assume that because it had a finite end that it was a prediction for the world to come to an end? I just LOVE all those doomsday fruits... and yes, there's more than just a TOUCH of sarcasm in that.

Dutchess: Hey, I am sorry that I was not descriptive enough with my question. After reading your response, I did get the idea that you know exactly what I was asking. I agree with Gandatwo completely on this and I too think and feel that it has already started. I am grateful that I have been gifted with the capability to acclimate with the conditions that have already started with change. I can give, anyone who would like, the address of some of the most up to date softbacks on the subject. I do not believe that everyone will be able to make the shift or even be aware of it. I do know that I am positive about it and all the people that I have met that have an idea about the shift in conscious are positive people also. I think that it is going to be an awesome experience for the entire world. Dutchess, I am aware of the sarcasm of which you speak and I am sorry. I wish there was something that I could help you with but I don't think I can....I'm sorry.

Ok, first of all, I don't mean to get defensive, but I never asked you for help, but rather to clarify what you were referring to.
What I was referring to, however, is the attitude that a lot of people have when it comes to prophesies and such (as many people have taken the end of the Mayan calendar to be) of the end of the world.
I don't believe that ANYONE can accurately predict such a thing and I really don't feel that it's something that we SHOULD know about before hand.
And I'm sorry, but I don't what you mean by "a shifting of consciousness".
(And no, I wasn't referring to you as a "doomsday fruit"... it was a general statement, intended to be both sarcastic and humorous, directed at the "chicken littles" of the world.
After all, what would be the point of running around doing the whole "end of the world" thing? If we, as human beings, are living decently and keeping our relationships with those that we love in good standing, being decent to people and treating others well, shouldn't we be prepared to meet whatever end is in store for us without having to put our affairs in order?

yep...great deal on the subject happening here in Oz over the years. Most are hoping and starting to "Feel" this great leap, wether they are involved in the metaphyscial or in religious circles.Personaly think it is already happening. There was some Literature going around the net a few years back by a guy whom has spent many years speaking on the subject, saying he had made a mistake in regards to the timing,Mayan calander etc.
Guess we will just have to wait see? All's in the timing.
"Cheers"

Hi there,
I am from Mauritius island in the indian ocean. I have heard no one making mention about it yet. I think I'm the only one interested about the 2012 events.
No books on the subject is yet available in local bookstores. So far I have purchased 2 books online + the dvd "2012: The Odyssey". The dvd was ver entertaining.
Regarding my thoughts on 2012, the matter is a pure entertainment for me. I've always been interested in fantasy & supernatural matters.
Therefore, 2012 is a real life entertainment to me.

That's great Ashbiz..yes, I find it very entertaining and an opportunity to learn so much. I am looking for a very nice place to live. I am retired now and have a fairly decent income. What is it like on Mauritius Island.? I have been in the Indian Ocean and have seen some beautiful sunsets there. Thank you for your thoughts.
