Can't we all just get along!!!! Love, life , and harmony all in mylot.!!!

I know we can't all agree bella but I just don't understand why people have to get so nasty - I have never understood that! I have my own beliefs and just cos someone else doesn't agree it doesn't mean that I should abuse them, we can discuss our different opinions and respect each others right to their own opinion! Does that make sense? Basically I agree with you wholeheartedly - if someone has no response but to bully or abuse another then why not just ignore a post and forget about it! xxx

Hi bella, There are as many differences of opinion, not only about this, (getting along), as there are about any other subject. One thing I've noticed though, there are just as many different people and ideas - (beliefs, systems, ways of life,etc.). I think there are some people who have taken ideas and voiced those ideas and how they think, as a part of their right to voice an opinion. With that opinion being rooted in emotion and certainly not peaceful logic, or caring, someone else responds to their response (here or IRL), and disruption occurs. It's not so much that it's a difference of opinion, or anything like that, sometimes, I think, it's just being down right rude and obnoxious, but, that's just MY opinion. My daughter asked me the same question years ago when were discussing an issue..."Can't we all just get along"? Sad to say, there are some people out there who just don't want to, no matter what. Their goal in life is to see how many buttons they can push before someone just knocks the crap out of them.......

It's just words on a computer screen. I disagree strongly with a lot of the opinions I see expressed here, but that doesn't mean I'm attacking somebody if I tell them so. If we always "got along" what would there be to talk about?

Hi bella! I can honestly say that since i've come back, i have no been attacked yet. But i learned a few things last time i was here.. That if you cause contriversy, its not always a good thing. You think that you'll get more money earned because you get more responses, but then your rating drops! I just stay away from things that upset people all together. Stick with the nice easy discussions ;) I think people are just too busy being offended to realize that they are just being too judgemental! Thats my opinion on the matter at hand!

I try not to verbally attack anyone but there have been times that my responses have been taken that way. I on the other hand have been verbally attacked many times for just giving my point of view which we all have a right to do ...here and in our daily lives. I've never been verbally attacked in my real life for stating my opinion (unless it was from a family member...lol...which doesn't count to me!)

I can understand what you mean…I have seen discussions running into pages and most of it is abuse in some for or the other. But one thing you have to agree is that mylot is a great place to argue and debate and since you are not actually seeing each other face to face, its kind of easier to write what you want. All the more reason why people become so emotional and explosive.

Some of this stuff is getting ridiculous- 4 discussions that I wanted to respond to and I didn't get the chance- friends to defend and all..it's peeving me! Thanks for letting me vent

Careful Bella, someone might think I wrote this discussion and I am really you because you are using phrases I always use in my discussions and comments. But to answer your question NO WE CANNOT all get along. If everyone could get along there would never be a war fought, a controversy started, or a different opinion given. If we all got along life would be very very boring. And why don't some people (raising hand) walk away when they don't agree with something they read here on myLot? Because we all have freedom of speech. We all have opinions. And just sometimes what we are disagreeing with was so utterly stupid that we feel it would be an injustice to let something that dumb go uncommented. But hey, like everything I write. This is just me and my opinion!

Ah, the diversity of the world creates such mayhem. :D Alas we cannot avoid those who absolutely must express their opinions in such a manner that can be construed as offensive or abusive. As much as we may wish that they would bite their tongues and express their feelings in a civil manner - we cannot expect it completely. All we can do is try to report and weed out the ones who are brutal and take the others with a grain of salt. -Tink
