Hello my wonderfully dear friends. I'm home safe and sound. I've actually been home since Friday night, but I've felt so lousy that even looking at the computer wasn't an option. This won't be a very long post because it really hurts to sit up in the computer chair. But I just wanted to let you all know that I'm ok, I'm home, and there have been no complications other than some pretty extreme nausea from the anesthesia right after the surgery was done. When I get to feeling a bit better I will be back and fill you in some more on how things went. Love you all............Carryl

Hi my dear friend....Soooo glad to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you're having pain there, but heck you went through fairly major surgery so I don't think you'll be doing the ramba dance any time soon...LOL. Just take care of yourself and let yourself heal. Glad to know your back home and on the mend....my prayers go out to you for your healing..(((((hugs)))))

Thanks sweetie. Been getting lots of sleep...in between counting ounces of liquids and protein. LOL! I didn't think I would feel better so quickly, but I really do, aside from the soreness where the staples were. Lots of love and hugs right back at ya!

Yeah, I know how those feel... I've had more staples in me than a storm window! I read through all of your responses, and you do sound darned positive, and yes, an bit tired. Now the regimentation begins, with how much and how often... after my intestinal obstruction, I lived for a year on 1/3 cup of food every 4 hours, so I with you on that part of it, too! Can't wait to have you back on the new BRAT... everyone gets their own album if they send me their stuff... got Mr. V posted for you already...LOL! LOVES and HUGS!

I think other than the pain, the worst part was right afterward in ICU. The anesthesiologist didn't put anything in the IV so that I wouldn't get sick, and they had to keep me in the ICU for over 5 hours until they could get the nausea under control. They finally had to put some kind of patch behind my ear, and that did the trick. Between that and the morphine that they first had me hooked up to (which I'm allergic to) the head nurse practitioner that was there with me was beyond ticked off! But she got everything all straightened out. Oh...and they had to keep reminding me to breathe, because I would stop, and the monitor would flat line. But it was just because I would basically forget to take a breath. I guess, compared to the surgery itself though, all of that isn't as bad as it sounds. Big hugs to you hon.

I've been thinking about you. So glad your surgery went well. I also know how the nausea can make a person feel horrible after surgery. I have the same situation anytime I've had anesthesia.
I have to make this real brief as we are having horrible storms and tornado warnings again in our area tonight.
Take care and will be waiting anxiously to hear from you once you are back at the computer.

Hi beautiful. It's lovely to hear from you. Glad you're ok and wish I could make things easy for you. I reckon you've a good deal of recovery and adjustment to go through so at least rest as much as you can and build up your energy. Just take your time and be good and take care. Big gentle hugs to you (((((Carryl)))))

Hello my wonderful favorite cheshire pal. Thank you so much for your encouragement and support hon. Actually, I'm feeling pretty good now. My energy level seems to be a bit higher than it was BEFORE the surgery! I'm so amazed by it too. I actually walked for about a mile and a half this morning. My legs are still protesting a bit, but all and all it was a really nice walk. But I'm still being good and not attempting the housework yet....can't bend enough to do it yet anyway. Lots of love and hugs back to you my dear friend.

Carryl, I am glad that you are home and thing went smoothly. You will feel better in time. Some deep even breathing can help with the nausea. Drink lots of water. (((hugs)))

Thank you hon. I'm feeling much better now. Still pretty sore in two spots, and I still have to sleep on my back, propped up with pillows on the bed, but it's so much better than a week ago. And the nausea was completely gone by Tuesday morning thankfully. My trusty water bottle is at my side at all times, and I'm keeping track of all of the ounces I've been drinking. Feels kinda like a full time job. LOL! Thanks again hon. Hugs to you.

Thank you so much Raia. I'm sorry it's been so long for me to respond. I actually have not touched the computer for about 4 days. I had some unusual pains start up, so I've been pretty much resting and taking it easy. I will be posting an update soon, I promise. Hugs to you sweetie....Carryl
