I love the Nightmare on Elm Street series, as well as this cheesy Valley girl comedy Earth Girls Are Easy. I also like the Breakfast Club, Weird Science, and Spaceballs (those were all from the 80s, right?). And didn't the original Terminator come out back then, too? I loved it so much.

I love Say Anything, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club and Troop Beverly Hills (or is that one 90's?).

Now after looking at my DVD collection - there they are the Indiana Jones, Star Wars, ET (or was that the 70's - I can't remember) and so many more!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot Ghostbusters and the Back To The Future series. Thanks, lpetges. Also, I can't believe I forgot two or the best trilogies of all time. The end of the Star Wars series came out in the 80s, as well as the Indiana Jones movies. Where would we be without such awesome Harrison Ford movies?

I love everything mentioned in the original post, and pretty much everything mentioned in everyone's comments. I agree completely that the eighties were great in terms of movies.
I wish I could say the same for now. I don't like a lot of what's coming out, and I'm not really sure why. They just don't appeal to me like some (like these older ones) do.

I am not going to list more movies since I think most of the good ones have already been mentioned, but I think no matter how good movie sare today, '80's movies are still the best. Like, The Goonies, and Dirty Dancing. Although I have seen these movies over a hundred times each, I still choose to watch them now over the newer movies that I haven't seen.
