I don't have a star =(

When you get to over 100posts, that's when your star can finally shine (LOL). Just wait and see. You see the (+)(-) and (!) signs on every discussion? That's where you get the numbers to your star. It's always good to rate with a (+). The (-) raing will get your numbers (in the stars) down. It's polite not to rate negatively if the only reason is you don't agree with the opinin. Personally, I reserve negative ratings for one-liners/words and for spam posts. Other than that it's either positive or none at all. The (!) on the other hand, is for reporting a discussion. Even that, I usually reserve for the ultimate violations of mylot rules (I've never actually reported anyone). So there, you get rated based on your replies or discussions, and it would help the others if you give them positive ratings as well

Go to 3 discussions other people start and post a comment. You will have a star when you reach 100 you are at 97 as I am posting this. The color of your star will change based on how many people + and - rate your discussions and comments. Do let the color of your star bother you though. When I first got my star it was a white 7 in one day it went down to a brown 3 and now it is a purple 4. No one cares about the color of your star as long as you contribute to myLot. Good luck.

Well, I just am responding to this discussion that you started on here 6 days ago, and have noticed you now have a Star. Once you reached over 100 on here, you get a Star. So now you should feel Proud and Happy. Hope you continue to be a posting member here.

Glad to see you got your star!!! You hit that magical 100 mark! LOL I just hit mine today... actually just found out yesterday or today what that star even meant and when you got it... I am happy for you and excited for me.. Congratulations! Have a happy day :-)

Thanks Kat, I'm fairly new here and this discussion has been very beneficial for me. I now learned and saw exactly how you got your star. My only problem with it now is why are there so many different ratings? What about the numbers next to your name and why do some peoople have level indicated next to this number? I think I've seen other forms of ratings too, but I can't remember them now. Can anyone clear this all up?

I think that they are rating or something like that...I am not really sure what they are I have just heard that they are rating stars and they rate peoples questions and answers...I would guess that someone has not been rating your questions and answers which is unfortanate(that doesnt look like its spelled right but its been a long day..sorry if it isn't spelled right)but I rated you a plus and if a few more people rate you a plus maybe they will help your get your stars back up...really hope that you do...dont be sad:-)
