I got this movie and have never seen Robbin Williams in a serious movie before. What a touching movie this is. This is a quiet type movie. It pulls you through the movie in a quiet kind of way. Robbin Williams plays the part of Chris and Annabella Sciorra plays the part of Anna. Anna and Chris get married and have 4 children. The four children die in a car crash and it effects both Anna and Chris deeply. Four years goes by and Chris dies in a car crash also leaving Anna behind. The scenes of Chris after his death in a place called Heaven with a guide played by Cuba Gooding, Jr. In life this guide was known as Doc by Chris. Chris wonders around and the scenes the movie portrays as heaven are something else. At one point Chris finds out that Anna committed suicide and there fore can not join him in heaven. His soul is wretched from him and he decides that he is going to find her. She is in a different place than him. He gets permission to do his search and when he finds her she does not recognize him. He stays with her and pulls at her heart strings and what happens from there you will need to watch the movie to find out. Robbin Williams I have always loved as a comedian. I find by watching this movie he is also a good serious actor. He brings across the screen the depth of his character. This is a touching and moving story of two soul mates that find themselves even after death. I loved it and at the end which is surprising tears rolled down my cheeks. A excellent movie which did not surprise me. Robbin Williams movies that I have seen have always been great to me. If you have seen this movie tell me what you thought about it?

I haven't watched or heard of this movie but I will definitely look for it. The way you related it , it sounds real good. I have 5 kids and I would die if I lose any of them. Robin is a very good actor. I did watch Mork and Mindy too. I have watched some of his movies as well which includes Mrs. Doubtfire, RV, Good Will Hunting, etc. He's really one of the best Hollywood actor for me.

I saw Mrs Doubtfire also and I couldn't top laughing. He is one of a kind actor and I love to watch him in his movies. Did you ever see: Good Morning, Vietnam. He played in that and did a over the top job in his acting in that.

Hello Sunshinelady, Yup, this is a fabulous film! Robin Williams truly outdid himself with this performance, as did Annabella Sciorra. It's a somewhat complex story-line, so it's best to not miss a single moment of it. The first time I saw it, I missed a few minutes at the start, which I never completely recovered from. When I saw it the second time, the earlier plot loss made all the sense in the world. This is also a film that presents a terrific life-lesson opportunity. Which is always a big draw for me to any movie. The story line actually gives us the opportunity to challenge our own beliefs, and to grow as people.

I agree with you about the meaning I got from the movie. He did outdo himself in this. Every time I watch him in a movie he puts his heart and soul into each different part that he plays. Another good movie of his that he also outdid himself in was: Good Morning, Vietnam. This also Robbin Williams threw himself into the part and came across the screen with playing it with all his heart and soul.

Your welcome. I love Robbin Williams and when I rented this from the library the librian told me that it was not a normal Robbin Williams film but that it was on a more serious nature. I watched it and it was fabulous and great and all the other words to describe his acting. It surprised me when I watched it because I had never seen him in a serious part. He made me feel like I was right there in the movie with him. One of my most favorite actors--Robbin Williams.

I must admit that I saw this movie many years ago so if the scene I am about to mention is not included or belongs to another film I do apologise, the scene is when he walks through a field of flowers and as he walks the field moves and changes and you realize that it is a painting on water it is beautiful imagery and how no matter where he goes he returns to a little boat on the lake. What I do remember is that like you, I was amazed that he had such a great dramatic style. I do remember that it was a story of redemption of love and hope. I thoroughly enjoy his work both in cinema and stand-up(he is amazing at comedy - I love his work), though his dramatic films are always amazing as with the very dark One hour photo and Insomnia. He is also amazing in Awakenings, Good Will Hunting and though some considered excessively sweet I enjoyed Bicentennial Man.

The Awakening I saw also and absolutely loved it. He is one of the greats in the comedy field as well as other fields that he plays in. I sure would love to meet him in real life.

I believe many people under estimate Robin Williams' acting ability. I have seen this movie and there is another one where he plays a doctor called Patch? that helps those individuals who seem to be "mentally unreachable" There are parts that are funny, but the storyline is absolutely brilliant. Like you, I have watched Robin Williams from the days of Mork and Mindy, through his comedic years and now with his acting! I am glad he didn't just stay with comedy because he really knows how to bring out a lot of emotions!

I agree with you. Robbin Williams does bring out a lot of emotions. I saw Patch Adams and liked it a lot as all the Robbin Williams films that I have watched.

My client loves that movie & showed me parts of it. It has wonderful immagery, the part with the tree toward the end was and the painting. I've seen Robin Williams in other serious movies, but never with such a large role.

Yes, I have seen this movie. Its absolutely one of my favorites, but surprisingly few people know about it. Yes you are right, it is about soul mates and it inspires you to think that true love does exist on a deeper level than sometimes meets the eye. I also thought the graphics in it were stunning. It has alot of twists and turns, which adds to its uniqueness. I thought it was a magnificent movie and one I don't mind watching over and over.

Yes, the graphics in it were stunning. The movie kept me in front of the television through the whole thing. I loved the way this movie was done. I had never seen Robbin Williams play a serious part before. He was excellent in this as were the other two people who played in it. I will watch this one more than just this one time.

Yes, I own this movie. It is one of my favorites and one that many Robin Williams fans have not seen. It is funny in parts but also very sad and it depicts the after life in such a way that you just have to hope its all true. It is a great movie. The Notebook is another of my favorites....if you havn't seen it...you should. you'll love it.

I read the book The Notebook but haven't seen the movie. I will have to get it and see how they did as whether they followed the book closely or added some of their own scenes. Sometimes that happens when a book goes to screen. I have seen almost all of Robbin Williams movies. There was another one he played in and as usual did a excellent job--Good Morning, Vietnam.

I used to watch Mork and Mindy also and that was hilarious. I found after watching this movie that he is a actor that can play different types of characters and play them with the same type of passion he plays at being a comedian.
