Is it it becoming a norm for modern day husbands to do marketing?

I am a husband and of and on, I enjoy myself doing marketing in hypermarkets together with mostly the ladies who comprise of housewives and young ladies. I do spot a few men too with their office attires or some who have probably taken time-off, pushing their trolleys in an orderly fashion, usually referring to a shopping list which they hold tightly in their hands as if loosing it would lead them into trouble. The men always seem to go directly to the items which they wish to purchase unlike the ladies who seem to have a lot of time to look at items which they do not buy at all. I am the same as any other man. If I have to buy 5 items, thats it. I get the 5 items and off I go to the payment counter. Men, are you all in the same gang as me or you do not do any marketing at all for your wives or girl friends? Ladies, do you have any comments on this ao feel that we are intruding into your territory?

I don't see anything wrong with husbands or men doing the marketing. It is an easy task to do and quite enjoyable if you go to supermarkets or groceries in malls. My husband also go to groceries or supermarkets or he comes with me whenever he comes for vacation from overseas job. But I notice that my husband takes time to decide when he's buying something for himself. I am more of a quick buyer than him. If I think I need the item, i get it at once, or if i want certain items, i'll get it, whether i'll be able to use it or not. :D But you are right, most men tend to stick to the list, my hubby too. At his workplace in other country my hubby does the marketing and cooking by himself.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Today many women work outside of the home and it may work out where it is easier for the man to do it. My husband would freak if he had to though. He's a truck driver, so as far as household stuff he's pretty clueless. He will run to the store for me just to pick up a couple of things but he usually gets it wrong. lol

Sure. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm a guy and I'm always at the grocery store, either with my mother or by myself. In fact, whenever I cook I like to go out and buy the ingredients myself. That way if the recipe turns out to be a disaster I have no one to blame but myself! LOL

My husband likes to go grocery shopping. If I can't get there, he will go. I have no problem with it. Now I don't like shopping with him, but if he goes by himself I have no problem with it.

I see a lot more men shopping in the grocery store than I used to. I think it's great. My husband goes along with me sometimes, but I leave him in the dust behind me. Actually, I leave him in the snack food aisle which is probably the whole reason he came along to begin with. In my experience, men buy more junk when they're in the grocery store. But this would be men who don't have the sole responsibility for the grocery shopping for the family. I'd like to meet one of those....Whit

I have been doing all of the grocery shopping even since my wife and I split 13 years ago, I had a lot to learn about what all my sons can eat and perparing nutrional meals for them. Luckily my mother was there to help me with that one, I guess I would have figured it out but it would have been a lot harder.

My husband and I do the shopping together each week. We make a list and try not to deviate from that list. We also shop with a calculator. Since we are on a tight budget. I dont mind men doing the shopping at all. I think whoever has the time available in their schedule should shop, cook and clean up.

There's nothing wrong with the guys doing the shopping. I prefer to do the shopping because my husband will usually pick up the wrong brand or something that we didn't necessarily need. But he did run out and get the milk this morning when we realized we were out - which was very nice of him.

Yes, I think its becoming a norm now. It's one of those few sings that husbands and wives share in chores. I prefer it that way if you'll ask me. We, ladies and wives gets tired too and maybe if our husband would buying for the family, it will make our lives easier.
