Go and watch Sunday - sunday -- bollywood movie

You know what is the best thing that works in the favor of movies like Bheja Fry, Golmaal - Fun Unlimited, Masti, Kya Kool Hain Hum and some other surprise hits in the recent past besides, of course, that they are all well-made comedies which entertain you non-stop? These movies do not come with any kind of baggage - they do not promise you anything. You just walk in the theater without much expectation. But right from frame one, you start enjoying the movie and get totally involved with the fast paced on-goings. Sunday is one such entertainer which under-promises but over-delivers. Not that it is some great classic, but the way Rohit Shetty has combined two diverse genres - Comedy and Suspense - in his third directorial venture after Zameen and Golmaal, its worth watching. Add to that, it has some good action sequences and lavishly choreographed item numbers. Sunday is not your typical whodunit murder mystery but the story unfolds in such an interesting and engrossing manner, you are forced to be glued to the movie. The funny moments are in abundance. Arshad Warsi is in terrific form. Every time he comes on screen, you are bound to laugh. Accompanying him and matching his wit in every scene is Irrfan Khan. In his funniest role till date, Irrfan is simply brilliant when he tries to do Don-III (son of SRK), Deewar (ab yeh chaabi meri dhoti se nikalna...), Himesh Reshammiya, Raamayan (ballu dashehra mana le, yeh raavan kutte ki maut marne wala hai...) and that Chudail and Dracula ki something. I wish these two actors had bigger roles. The main lead Ajay Devgan is competent as usual. A cop relishing Cornetto while doing major action sequences befits his style. Surprisingly you'll like his comedy too. Ayesha Takia is a natural when it comes to acting, but I wonder what's wrong with her dress sense. She looks awful sometimes and overweight most of the times. On the other hand, Anjana Sukhani looks hot but acts awful in an insignificant role. Mukesh Tiwari is a revealation. I never expected him to be so funny. He and Vrijesh Harjee provide good comic moments. Esha Deol looks stunning, for a change, in the climax item song, which has been picturised very imaginatively. On the flip side, music is not that strong. Barring the title song and Shibani Kashyap's Kashmakash, the other songs could well be chopped off. Also, I wish the movie had some interesting twists. The narration is good and simple but lacks those "holy sh*t" moments. As far as the story of the movie, I do not want to reveal much. It's about Sehar (Ayesh Takia), who has a Sunday missing in her life. She fails to remember what all things happened on that eventful day. ACP Rajveer (Ajay Devgan) tries to figure out the jigsaw puzzle which also involves a cabbie Ballu (Arshad Warsi), a wannabe actor Kumar (Irrfan Khan) and a handful of interesting characters. Overall, Rohit Shetty has been successful in providing a wholesome entertainment, worth spending your Sunday on.

that was an excellent review, now I will have to go and see Sunday. I was getting a little bored by similar comedies coming one after the other but I will try this.
