Does it really matter and to whom?

Ok. Another rare post from me. I try to limit my posts to those questions that I actually care to hear your responses to. I have been hearing constant "complaining" for a few days now about posts on MyLot. Not really the posts but the responses to posts. Specifically, a new user posted some discussion which, (insert deity of your choice)forbid, recieved a lot of responses very quickly. You would think the heavens had opened and fire and brimstone was falling from the sky. Does it really matter how many responses you get to some post? And what type of person really bases their sense of satisfaction on what their star number/color is? I understand there is some money aspect to MyLot. From what I gather, for every 800 million responses you get a Canadian nickel....which I believe you can trade for a real nickel at some stores along the border. But, is anyone getting upset because they had the belief they were going to strike it rich on MyLot? Tell me, who cares?

I guess you have to be cynical to be with me so I will let you live. I never joined myLot for the money so I really don't care about my star. But I did almost fall out of my chair when I saw my brother start his second discussion ever and get over 100 responses to it, 80 in the first day. I don't get that kind of exposure. I am lucky to get 20 comments on any given discussion that I start so it took me by surprise to see so many so quickly. But honestly, I don't think the majority here cares.
