Today I quit smoking.

February 6, 2008 3:06pm CST
I had my last ciggy at 10am this morning and I am now using NRT so far so good not too anxious or stressed yet. I am determined to quit and could really do with a bit of support.

I quit a week ago Friday and have only gave in twice to the urges. It is much easier now. I have heard that it only takes so long for the nicotine to get out of your system and then it just the person issues after that. I must have had alot of personal issues. LOL I would like to be your support buddy. I think I am in need of one also. (((hugs)))

That's a fine decision for you or any one.Just accept your moods, conditions without smoking as they come. Let those uncomfortable moments pass away. Bear with it. Make a habit of accepting your feelings without smoking. It would become a habit and you no longer feel for it.

For starters way to go. My husband stopped smoking 2 weeks ago. COLD TURKEY! just got up a few Sundays ago and said that he was done. No patch, No Pill, all he is doing is chewing sugar free gum, a sucker a few times a day. And started walking and working out. So I do hope you the best it is not an easy thing to do. BUT a great thing to do for yourself and family.

Good luck good luck justrachel. I wish my husband was determined to quite as you are! He has been told to because he was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He has cut down from 1 pkt a day to 1/2 pkt and is doing ok but he still needs to push himself. I know its not easy since it is an addiction just like drinking coffee. Good luck again!
