How do you react when someone tries to tell you how to be a parent? Or how to raise your child? To me there is a huge difference in advice, and criticism and even farther then that, if I ask for it, give it to me, if I don't, keep it to yourself. I have never known something more irritating than someone trying to tell me how to raise my son. Tell me what you think...

I hate when someone tells me how to raise any of my kids. I've been a mom for almost 12 years and my children are all healthy, smart, creative, caring, compassionate, people. So what if I let my 5 year old drink Mt. Dew or I take my almost two year old out on a windy day without a hat on?
They are my kids and I know what is best for them, or don't over exaggerate some things like media does.
But on the other hand I will be the first to open my mouth to one of my "less experienced" friends or relatives who is doing something down right stupid like letting her 9 yr old smoke. Some stupidity has to be pointed out before it has a chance to spread.

OMG! I know how you feel. I had that happen to me earlier today. I just argue right back and tell them I know what i'm doing. They don't ever listen. But they are my children and I will do how I see fit. It aggravates me so much when people tell me what to do with my children.

Exactly and like I said before if I ask for advice then give it to me, if I don't then don't...

I agree, it was really hard for me to get use to but I am not rude back. Even though I wanted to be. I usually just say okay thanks, or if I don't agree with it than I would say "well okay but I do it this way because...." I have even caught myself doing it, not alot, but I have and I try not to.

I haven't had anyone do that yet, amazingly enough! I think though it would depend on who it was, if I respected their oppinion on the matter and how they did it. If they have a brat of a child and they are trying to tell me how to raise my children then that would be very annoying!
