These members of NATO are being verbally criticized for not sending troups to support us in IRAQ by Defense Secretary Gates. Before you criticize me, please know that I have been with friends when they died in combat and I have been shot in combat. Please contact your leaders and inform them that you would prefer them going to fight their own battles. Comat is real and it usually means death for someone. These days, I think we can live under someone else's tyranny until we can outsmart them and overthrow them. I don't know, is this right or am I wrong...?I don't want to see any more death like this, I am tired of it...

Essentially, if the country does not agree with the fighting country's motives I see no reason why they should fight along. It sort of goes against the purpose if you don't agree with the cause you're fighting for.

I strongly agree with you hawaiigopher! I also saw that you can see the things more objectively when I looked at your comments on my discussion about iraq. personally, I lost all of my hopes to inform people who strongly resist it.

Well what cn you say about these countries. They have reaped the benefits of NATO without having to take up any of the responsibility. Although, I would have to admit that Italy was in Iraq. I talked to many Italian soldier when I was there. They may have pulled out, but so did Spain.
