Which of these 1994 movies deserved an Oscar ?

I would say Forrest Gump. Pulp fiction is my number two because I've seen this movie dozens of times and I'm never tired of it but because of it's class B feeling/vulgarism/bloodiness it isn't as universal as Forrest Gump. And FG may be adaptation of the book but I've read the original and I admit with all my heart that the movie isway better that that. I watched The Shawshank Redemption but I didn't like this movie as much as the others mentined before.

I've never seen The Shawshank Redemption, and it's been a while (probably since 94) that I've seen Forrest Gump. Pulp Fiction is one of the few movies I can watch more than once, so I'll go with it.

I'm in a toss up between Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump. They are both excellent movies and in a perfect world they both would receive and Oscar, but if I have to choose one, it would be Shawshank Redemption.

The Shawshank Redemption, without a doubt. It's one of the greatest films ever made. I cannot recommend it highly enough, it's breathtaking.

I haven't seen Pulp Fiction or Forrest Gump, but I absolutly LOVE The Shawshank Redemption! I love that movie, I think it's great!! So I'll have to go with that one since it's the only one I've seen...plus I loved it!!!

Out of those three I would say Forrest Gump. Tough choice. That was a very strong year in regards to the nominees for best picture.

I loved the Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump and sorry that is hard. Up to this day I haven't seen Pulp Fiction. Both are darn good and if I recall that year was a Forrest Gump one because Robert Zemeckis won Best Director, Tom Hanks for two times in a row(only Spencer Tracy had the feat to do it like that and he became the second) two years(after winning Best Actor for Philadelphia in 1993); so naturally, Forrest got the Oscar, but The Shawshank Redemption ain't nothing to sneeze at either.

My favorite of these three movies was Shawshank Redemption. One of the greatest movies ever.

I've seen them all. I think Shawshank Redemption deserves it hands down.

That is a tough one between The Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump. I think I would have to say The Shawshank Redemption.

shawshank redemption and forrest gump are two of the best movies ever made.. forrest gump took almost all major awards in 1994.. I think shawshank redemption deserved some.. but i then forrest gump is also so good that they deserved each one.. but then shawshank ranks higher than forrest gump when the top 100 movies was released in 2000... then i guess its even .. who deserved an oscar .. they deserve an oscar both.. but why did forrest gump took almost all? .. i guess we should be back to that year and how it could have been viewed by people.. taste differs .. there is a trend.. did i actually answer the question? :D i don't know .. that is the reason why i made 3 slots for top movies .. so i can squeeze the three that i most love.. :D

obsulutely witout any doubt shawshank redemption is the best film but i still dont know how forestgump got the oscar it is a bit very big disappoint for me.

Though Shawshank is a great movie, it's a bit too long. Forrest Gump was a much innovative film, and deserves an Oscar.

I would have to vote for The Shawshank Redemption. I did not are for Forrest Gump and have not seen Pulp Fiction. I like Tom Hanks but in that movie I did not care for the part that he played.
