Is this your first child? Reading to them is great my little girl whom is 5 now is in kindergarden this year and she is in the top of her reading class. Reading to them and talking to them not like babies really helps them achive things alot easier than they would if you didn't.

I have also been reading to my daughter since she was born, she is 2 and she loves me to read to her, only trouble is, she not only likes to hear her own books, but she likes me to read her my books too! Good job they are all clean books! When I get her books out now she tells me "no for babies", and so I have to read her mine. If I get to a part that I think is unsuitable for her I usually just read that bit quietly to myself and she gets really cross with me as if she knows that I am leaving her out of all the juicy bits.

I have been reading to my daughter since she was in my belly. When I found out I was pregnant I started reading out loud all my pregnancy books. I read to her in the hospital to get her to sleep for the night (I say for the night because I was a lucky mom and she has slept through the night from day 1) She is 14 months now and she brings me her books all the time to read to her. Some times she "reads" them to me. Its really cute to see her sitting there with her upside down book reading outloud... Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.

We read to our girls every night before they go to bed. They love to hear stories. They sometimes want stories during the day too. They will pretend to read stories to each other too.
