Romney's Out - Should Huckabee Follow Suit?

It's been said over and over all day today on TV and the radio that McCain is the GOP nominee especially after Mitt Romney's announcement earlier today that he's suspending his campaign. However, it's really not totally "over" as the formerly fat man has yet to sing his swan song. What do the rest of you think, whether you're a Democrat or Republican (or neither) and whether you're happy with McCain or not so much - should Huckabee bow out gracefully now and hold on until, well, whatever he's holding on for?

Dear Annie....It is because Romney has dropped out.
I cannot stand Car Sales-men. And He Strikes me as a Used Car Salesman.
Secondly....I've been following this Closely. And....( think , think , think )
I'll be kind and just say...I'm grateful he's out , for a myriad of reasons.

I just listened to his little speech. He sounds like he's afraid he would lose and it would hurt the people who are for him and not himself. I'm sorry but I don't believe that...he just doesn't want to be known as a loser. He said his quitting is going to make it easier for Hilary or Obama to win...then why is he quitting? If I had to make a choice I would vote for McCain because I don't like Huckabee and definitely don't want another Texan in the White House!

Hey ctrymuziklvr, I think you misread the news. Mitt Romney said that by quitting, he would allow the McCain campaign to focus more against Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama instead of spending time and money trying to defeat Romney. So his quitting will make it less easy for the Democrats to win. I just think you got it all mixed up, so I'm letting you know what it said.
Have a good one and take care!

Romney is not necessarily out. He has merely suspended his campaign. He still controls his nearly 300 delegates. Mathematically, it is nearly impossible for Huckabee to win, but the majority of the remaining primaries are in strong red states where he has fared well. McCain has only done well in the blue states.
I do believe that the party that wraps up the nomination process faster stands a better chance in the general election. At the same time, I don't believe in crowning a champion too early.

I really don't think the GOP nomination being decided first is going to help them in the general election. There's all kinds of excitement on the Democratic side but not so much with the Republicans. I think the people are really fed up with the policies of the past seven years and hopefully we won't repeat the same mistake again for a long time!

Senator John McCain has a nearly overwhelming lead of Delegates for the Republican party nomination So,It would be wise for the others Like Romney and Huckabee to bow out gracefully and get behind him with there support.
It will give the Republican party a chance to get out their message ahead of the yet to be decided Democratic nominee.

I hope in all my prayers that Huckabee stays in. Several reasons. If you want to talk economy. You HAVE to put ILLEGAL immigration in the same sentence. If any of these other yahoos get in. Then they will press for AMNESTY in one form or another. Will 12 to 20 million ILLEGALS which suddenly have rights and can apply for ANY job they want effect the economy?. Of course it will. Might just affect YOUR job cause they will work cheaper and are non-union. What does being a POW have anything to do with being smart? What has he REALLY done all those years as a Congressman? HE was the author of last years Dream Act! Morality is in Huck's corner and he has not been afraid to say it. PLEASE!!!! Run, Huckabee, RUN!!! Who are the right to life people going to believe?

I wish it would give Ron Paul more votes and i rather mccain drop out than Huckebee but that aint going to happen b/c hes to far ahead that would be just dumb of him. im just hoping for the best in the next states to go for Ron Paul, but its not looking good so far, i keep send winning energy his way but its just not working that well. I know he will win in Texas b/c all I see here is Ron Paul signs. but the only other person that i barley like is Huckabee. so I hope we have good luck America, and not another bad one
