How Many of You Join Reward-a-thorn at Helium?

Hong Kong

I was reminded by a mylot friend here about this program at helium, so I decided to check it out! Finally today I got a thorough idea of it. So I think I will participate. I have written a few articles a few days before and they are counted in the program. But now I really have to rate their articles seriously and reach that 3-star rating by mid April (I have none *laughs*). So I guess I will spend some time today to write a piece and rate (but the rating should be the one I have to work on). Since I won't be working till the 18th, I will spend some time next week to write like crazy *laughs*. What about you? Do you have 3 rating stars there already? Have you participated? What's the most important thing you have to work on there for now?

Just curious...how much do you rate a day (approximately) to get your stars for rating? I have stars for writing, but never seem to rate enough. Thanks for the help.

oh i rate about 7-10 articles a day... well 7-10 pairs. i'll admit i cheat a little on obvious ones. if they're super short or all in one paragraph i'll automatically pick the other one. i usually skim over them. i really like articles that are split up into bullet points or sections with headers.

I am rating like crazy today and I still have no stars, I guess I really have to refresh myself with a shower and continue rating again! I want to at least have one star today *laughs*. Congratulations, there is only one rating star left and then you will be qualified!

I have rated like crazy and never managed to get even one rating star, and that was even before they came up with this contest. It is reasonable they should want to get people to rate more, but unlikely that I will try to get any of those bonuses. The only star I have on Helium is for writing.

True, we have to rate 200 articles to have 3 stars! I am not sure how much I could rate in a day *laughs* but I am going to try after I am "done" with mylot. Oh, I have only one star for writing with Helium too and I don't think I would have more than that in awhile! *laughs*

You are SO on top of these things. I didn't know that 200 articles gets you 3 stars! Are you sure? I rate all the time, but never got a star for rating. It would not be impossible to rate 200 articles between now and April. You might talk me into this yet, lol.

Yes, I guess maybe it's because it's counted within a certain period of time. Like you have to rate within the 90 days to get the stars. I kind of think it's impossible too *laughs*, but since I have nothing scheduled today, I think I might just spend most of my time around here and also over at helium rating. *laughs* Their requirements are a bit harsh!

I've only written a few articles this month, but I don't know if I can actually make the money because I don't have any stars for rating. I mean, I rate all the time. What do I have to do to get a star for it? I get frustrated with Helium, but I always seem to go back there. Today I had a weird incident. I got a message that one of my best selling articles (How to start birdwatching...not a very controversial subject) was flagged "other." The person commented that I was off topic, but all I talked about was birds. How strange. I don't want to get into a battle with the commenter, but what the heck was that all about? You see what I mean about Helium?

I went over and read your article. I didn't see anything wrong with the formatting. I noticed that your article is number 1; maybe the person or people who are flagging things are targeting articles that are number 1 in their category. Just a thought.

My God, I have been rating for 3 hours today and still no star is appearing. You have to rate around 40 articles within 90 days to get one star and more and so on. But rating does seem to be a brain draining process, hopefully I could get at least one star today, otherwise, I am planning to yell at someone *laughs*. I read about your other discussion about the weird incident, will actually go there and write you a response on that!

I just received two flags for separate articles. The first person flagged for spelling and told me that firstly is not a word so please don't use it. The second told me that this article http://www.helium.com/tm/808509 was not formatted properly. I failed to see what she meant myself so if anyone else can pick it please let me know! I guess my point here is try not to worry to much about being flagged, not everyone knows what they are doing!

Hi - I'm the site steward at Helium for the travel channel (look me up, Fiona Thompson) For three rating stars you need to have rated 200 articles in the last 90 days - that's not such a big number. Keep going, you can do it. Incidentally, drop in to the travel forum and take part. I'd love to hear from you.

Yes I know I have to rate 200 pieces to get 3 stars and I have already 2 stars by rating yesterday *smiles*. Sure I start to appear in the forum too, and will definitely drop by the travel channel *winks*, I love traveling too!

Hope the rating has been going well for you and the stars are begin shine. The reward-a-thon is a great idea, thankfully I have 3 stars, I am not really sure how I got them though as I never thought I rated all that much! When the reward-a-thon started I bean rating madly, I actually went up to four stars! After a bit of a break it went away though. Now I just do a few every day to make sure that I keep what I have. Try not to get disheartened though if you don't see any stars straight away, I think they only get updated at certain times (once a week/month) don't quote me on it though! Right now I am on a slight break from helium for a day or two, I am recovering from a contest!

Lovely. I don't see any rating stars on my profile, but I do see two when I posted just now in the forum. So I guess I have "some stars" *laughs*. Wow, then I will need to contribute to writing more articles there. I don't aim high, I just want to make enough for the payout, I have $18 already, so it's not a long way with the reward-a-thorn program.

Rating is the key at Helium. The more you rate the higher your star rating will go. I rate a couple or so everytime I submitt an article. Sometimes I only rate once. You can do it.

Yes I rated so hard yesterday and earned 2 stars! I am so happy, I will definitely spend some time to rate and write again tomorrow. Hopefully I could earn a few bucks with this program and make my payout! Yay!

Hi, I am also a member at helium, I was addicted to that site before this one. But now I like mylot alot better. I have joined that reward a thorn however I do not have any stars yet. Still hoping, it is alot of hard work to get stars there. I have wrote about 27 articles so far, that is in about 6 months. I am not too motivated at the moment. You need to be in the right frame to write quality articles. I have to work on rating more articles there.
