Not really! I called in sick for the first time in 22 years at the same place. Last night I think I had a touch of the flu or something I ate and was miserable so I finally did it....I called in. My boss was so nice. She knows that I wouldn't do it unless I really needed to. But it was a first! I am feeling alot better this morning!

That's a great work record. How did you manage to not miss any days in 22 years? Amazing.
I don't call in either unless I just can't physically work. I had to be off over 2 months this past summer as a result of a pinches nerve in my leg and bulging discs. I felt guilty the entire time I was off even though epidurals were done on my lower back and had medical papers to show the dates.
Glad you're feeling better this morning and enjoy your day off work.

I was talking to one of my neighbors yesterday and she said she had been sent home from work. She hadn't missed work in 6 years, but when she showed up they said she was in no shape to be there. The cold/congestion/body ache type flu stuff is going around. My dad has it. I saw him this morning and he was just awful. I got a headache just hearing him cough every three seconds. My poor mom had to listen to it all night. I feel more sorry for her than him because my dad is naturally loud, but when he is sick, you can hear him cough stuff up from 4 blocks away. And I don't think I'm exaggerating.

I am not good at being sick either! LOL...I didn't have the coughing like your dad got but the actual flu which I haven't had for 35 years! I had the hong kong flu when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter and hadn't had it since! Thanks for posting!

Hi jillhill, twenty-two years on the same job and the first time you called in sick! Wow, that must be some kind of record. I bet there are a lot of employers who would love to have you working for them. I'm pleased that you are feeling better today. The workplace needs more people like you. Blessings.
