Most offices have cafeterias inside the premises but eating in those cafeterias may get unpleasant at times. Some employees choose to carry their own home cooked food to work. There can be quite a number of reasons why they'd stick to their home cooked ones.
We have a huge cafeteria at my work place. Here we get varieties of stuffs. From Veg to Non-veg/Chinese to French. But at times i prefer to carry it from home as it gets monotonous eating from the same vendor all through out the year.
I'd like to know how many of us do so and what kind of stuffs would you take along to work.

i don't work but my husband does and usually he takes a lunch with him. either leftovers from the supper i made the night before or something we've gotten at the grocery store for his lunches. the odd time he buys his lunch but that usually only on payday fridays cause his whole shift orders out from somewhere. but he says he'd rather bring something from home cause its cheaper and its not the same thing as whats on the menu at the work cafeteria.

Cant cook ;) So obvious answer being not taking food from home. We get good food near the office. So who'll take the pain to cook if thats the case.

I don't work, but my husband does. He brings his lunch every once in a while. If he doesn't bring his lunch they usually cook for him at his job. He is a jail administrator.

We have a cafeteria in my work place also but I bring my lunch and eat in my office, the cost of the food is so high in the cafeteria and I really don't like the food there to get a bottle of water 16 oz is over a $1.50 and in the vending area you can get a bottle of water for 80 cents so its easier to just bring something from home to eat

I work as a part time office administrator. My boss has two cafes, so sometimes I have lunch in her restaurant, and sometimes I go to work after have lunch at home.
It is depend on what time I get up.:-)If I get up early, that means I have my breakfast early, so I will cook some foods for lunch at home. But if I get up late, so I eat breakfast late, I will have lunch in my boss's resturant. Of course, it's free. But, actually, I don't like western food. My favourite foods always Asian foods.

I carry my lunch box to office everyday. May be once in a month, i eat outside food. I prefer home made food. Its healthy, hygienic and tastier.
Even we have a very good cafetaria in our office and a lot of restaurents near the office. Still i prefer mom-cooked food :)
Most of my friends prefer eating out.
Also, if my mom was not there to cook such tasty food, then even I would have eaten outside food. :D

when im having my duty during the morning shift, i usually carry with me my lunch.. just in case there are no more available foods in the cafeteria, at least i have something to eat still.. and i really think that foods cooked at home is better than those you just buy outside..
