Okay guys some of you may know that I have been MIA for 2 days due to a killer migraine! I couldn't even check in on my email without vomitting and couldn't bear any lights etc! Thing is that you should see the state of me here - it is almost 1am and I am laying here with my laptop, one lamp on and wearing my sunglasses - yep that is right sunglasses! I had forgotten I had gotten prescription sunglasses as I didn't think I would be using them until at least April , well I do live in Scotland!!! lol I remembered today that I had them and they have helped lots - do you think this is something that might help each time I get a migraine? Has anyone else tried wearing prescription sunglasses to help a migraine? I am also going to be a very good girl and try to get some more sleep as I don't think lack of sleep has helped me! Anyone out there got any advice for me - I'd love to hear it! xxx

Well because I need eyeglasses I got sunglasses that are made from the same prescription of those and they block out bright lights whilst letting you be able to see better! There was a special deal when I bought my spectacles that you got a pair of prescription sunglasses free! xxx

Oh Mo, you poor thing. I've never had a migraine but I have had excruciating sinus problems where I couldn't open my eyes or hold my head up. I couldn't think or talk everything was just painful and draining. The sunnies sound like a great idea and if you can handle it - go for it. I don't know what else to suggest...I would be trying to sleep through it if I could. Sending you healing vibes and light dear one.

Ouch sweets I have had a mild sinus infection in the past and it isn't very pleasant at all! Thanks so much for the vibes and the light - they are much appreciated! I am much better now although I am still wearing the shades and have to keep taking medication to ward off another attack - this one is a stubborn one! lol I have been keeping you in my prayers my lovely friend and do so hope that you are feeling well now - Niamh was asking about you just last night! xxx

Aww mummymo I had not idea you had not been well these past few days with a migraine. I know the flu is going around in your family and do hope you all are feeling better. As for the sunglasses, I'm not sure if this will help with your migraines. I tend to take some advil or tylenol and try to sleep it off. Sorry I can't be of much help! take care xx

Hearing from you always makes me feel better sweety so that is a big help! Actually I am feeling a lot better today and I am still wearing the sunglasses but at least I have the curtains open now! I take prescription medication for migraines but it only seems to help at all if I can take it really quickly - unfortunately this time I didn't take it quick enough! lol I am being sensible and not staying online all day though - making sure that my eyes get plenty of rest! xxx

I know this will sound like I'm making a joke, but I'm not. The tippy-top, numero uno rx I needed for a bad migraine was... compazine suppositories. Compazine is an anti-emetic, so once it takes effect, you have a shot at taking pain meds and not spewing them right back up. I had these things really badly in my early 20's, thankfully, they receeded over time, haven't had one in years - knock wood! Hope you are feeling better now. Big, healing hugs to you!

Well GG sweety that is a fantastic idea as the vomitting does make things so much worse and as you pointed out it does stop medication taking effect! I will make enquiries about hese and hopefully have them if they are needed again! Praying you won't have to experience any more of these awful attacks EVER again sweets! Thanks for the advice and hugs - sending you huge hugs back! xxxx

Wow love the shades, go on give us a turn, on second thoughts you better not! When I used to suffer from headaches I would have a bath, I know it sounds weird, but I found the steam from the bath actually soothed my head, because of the steam vapours, I like a nice hot bath and when I laid back and relaxed it soothed my head, with NO other disturbances, like the phone, television or other people, quality time to yourself. Ok, now you are in the bath, want me to come in with the loofah?

I'm still wearing them - honest! Even in the house at night with one little lamp on I am wearing them! lol I have tried a bath and it didn't work but that was probably because you weren't here with your loofah - I'm turning the taps on now and the rose bath oil is going in so you better get your skates on and get over here fast! xxx

I get really bad headaches too. I take Aleve and drink lots of water. Also lying down in a dark room with warm packs on my head helps too. I have never tried the sunglasses. Also, I let 2 baby aspirin dissolve under my tongue. That really helps alot.

Aleve sounds as though it may be similar to Migraleve that I take but I have to take it very quickly or it doesn't work! I have never heard of the baby aspirin before I may give this a try next time - thank you Trace. Isn't it funny how some people prefer cold packs while others find heat more effective - just goes to show we are all different! xxx

Well Mom I hope that it is another benefit of the Shaklee and that you never have to suffer another one again! When I am suffering a migraine attack I cannot bear anyone touching me at all but I am sure that I would let you do anything you thought would help! That sounds a lot like reflexology - I have heard that works along similar lines to accupuncture right? Love you Mom, hugs xxxx

Hello mummymo :)) Sorry to hear about your migraine attack. I do sometimes have migraine-like headaches. I havent gone to a doctor though and have it diagnosed :( When I get these headaches I always want to stay in a cool dark place. hmmm Maybe I should try getting sunglasses like yours and see how it works. Thanks and have a headache-free day! Hugs!

Thank you sweety - it is good to see you! It really does sound like migraines sweets and I would recommend you see a doctor - some people react very well to some migraine medications - it really could ease your suffering! As for the shades - they really are helping the migraine hangover I always get after an attack! xxx

Hi mummymo! Sorry to hear about your condition right now. My aunt has migraine too and she refused to wear her prescription glasses before but then she gave in because everyone in the family is nagging her to wear it. hehe..Well, she did and it did helped her a lot. She said that it is rare now that she has migraine attacks. And i guess it is because of the prescription glasses. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day! :)

Wearing your glasses can make a huge difference to migraine! We didn't know my 14 year old son needed glasses as he had his eyes checked every year til he was about 11 and everything was fine - then he started having at least 1 or 2 migraines every week and fainting spell! We got his eyes checked, got his glasses and the migraines are down to about 1 every 4 to 6 weeks! So you are probably right about your aunt! I usually always wear my ordinary glasses and think I will be wearing my prescription sunglasses more now! xxx

I advise you to take some fresh air. Go to a park, walk during an hour at least, you should contact to soil and grass. You need to be on contact with to expell your negative energies.

Hi, i get terrible 3 day migraines so i know how you feel. I take a tablet called Zomig which is on prescription from the doctor and its really good so maybe try that. Its reduced mine from 3 day belters to one day or even a half a day and the pains not that bad. Try and take one as early as possible when you feel it coming on. Also you can get a roll on peppermint oil that you can put on your forehead and the nape of your neck and thats really good as well and its completely natural too so try them both and hopefully it works a bit for you. Take care

Thank you bireland for all that good advice! I do take a medication that sounds similar to Zomig but if I don't take it within the first 10 mins or so it just doesn't work! The peppermint oil sounds good! xxx ps Welcome to mylot - I hope you have fun! xxx
