Okay so i'm none too fond of someone (like a friend or family member) putting me on hold, but there a couple circumstances that REALLY bug me.
The first one has happened a few times and just did tonight once. My friend calls me and then puts me on hold. It was like "Hello?" "Hey...hold on" then she put me on hold for a few minutes. I was ready to hang up if shes gonna do something rude like that.
Aparently she couldnt leave it off hold while she was choosing a CD to play? -.-
Then the second thing is when you are on the phone with them for a while and they get another call from another friend while you're talking, and they 1st put you on hold to talk to them for like 10 minutes, then when they finally come back they say "I'm gonna go its[blah blah] on the other line. See ya."I've had this happen tons of times. Uhm, hello?! I was talking to you! They're obviously more important to me i guess then right? The polite thing to do would be to say to THE OTHER PERSON "can i call you back?".
Whoo...okay. Enough ranting.
But come on, is that not rude?Grrrr...

That is really annoying, I have one friend that tried that with me and now when he calls if he gets another call and asks me to hold on I tell him no and hang up.

I remember calling from California to Ohio to talk to my mother. She tells me to hold on while she makes my brother a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Well not only did that tick me off, but my brother was 24 years old at the time. I was so mad that I hung up and didn't call her for months. I thought that was really, really rede, so I can absolutely sympthasize with what you are saying.

agreed incredibly rude. i hate being put on hold in general. especially when youre calling like support lines. my friend worked for a technological support service and hed put people on hold and go get something to eat or make out or anything if they were making him upset.
i also hate when people phone me and then watch tv and dont talk. ummm im wasting my minutes?

yes both great examples.
I've sat on the line with Time Warner Cable for an hour before i could get anyone, only to have them say "alright well let me transfer you to blah blah blah" and i have to wait another hour. I've always been sure they're just laying around watching TV or something and just say that its because they have other callers in line in front of me. This is just Southern Wisconsin's Time Warner number. Are there really that many callers at any one time from this area?
Thanks for the response =]
