I just like to know the number of periods per week of teaching in your country. Beside teaching, do you any other thing else such as coaching, in charge of club or uniform bodies? Well, we have to handle other stuffs like clubs and uniform bodies.

I see. I'm teacher in a Secondary school teaching Form 6 (Pre-University level) and Form 5. Our average periods for week is 25 periods and each period is 40 minutes. We have to prepare lesson plan and teaching aids. I guess that must be the same. Thanks for the response

I'm presently teaching college, if you have subject for 3 units is equivalent to 3 hours per week. For lecture with laboratory atleast 5 hrs a week, (3)hours of laboratory and (2)hours for lecture. Before, i was teaching High School for almost 2 years, i met my students five hours a week depends on number of units per subject. So far, i dont have any task in my school like coaching.

Well, it sounds like you are a very experience teacher. Do you ever regret taking up taching as your profession? For me I love the kids very much and all my students are around 16 and 17 years old. I treat them like friend however when I get down to serious business, all of us will be serious. I'm also in-charge of football club. Thanks for your comment.

When I was a teacher, I used to have 10 periods a week of one and a half hours. In after hours you need to spend about the same time in preparation and in correcting assignments.

Lucky you for having only 10 periods for week. Whereas in my country the average number of periods per week is 25 period which is a bit burden for us especially in preparing the lesson as well as correcting the exercise books, portfolio or assignments.
