“Luck” – Do you believe?

In our society many believe in luck. Say if a person finds a hundred rupee note lying on the road while walking he/she assumes he/she is lucky. When a lucky draws takes place in a textile shop 1% becomes the winner and he/she is considered lucky.
Presently many dance competition take place now and the winners is selected by Sms through mobile voting. I feel there is no luck which smiles on a person. For argument sake is 1 person becomes the winner among the people who participate in a draw. Suppose if the draw takes place second time the same person will not become the winner. Then off course, how can we say that there is luck.
There are astrologers who predicts going through the horoscopes of a person that there is a period if stones touched that will become gold. Further more the astrologer will say the spam of life time for that particular person is 8 years without any hesitation. But the death might come to him in an accident within a few months. These astrologers’ keeping a book with some drawing predicts a marriage will be successful but within a couple of months these couple goes to the court to seek divorce. Some want to make quick bugs so they approach these horoscope readers to find out of he is lucky to win a prize on lottery ticket.
These are useless thing to think. Use your brain, plan and work hard you will be a happy man.Dont think of your luck. As far as I am concerned hard work is the key to success.

hello there to U...personally, i don't believe in luck...but i do believe that there's a blessing and it comes from GOD...if we only do good to others, have faith professing with good works, and believe in the power of GOD... GOD is so good and so merciful... HE will pour out HIS blessings and graces upon you if you will abide in HIM...according in the BIBLE, John 15:7 "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." and according in John 7:37-38 "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
Let's believe and have faith in GOD...actually, we should feel blessed every minute, every seconds of our life, because breathing itself is a blessing from GOD...we should be thankful to GOD that we can still open our eyes each morning and behold HIS beautiful creations...all things HE has created were great blessings...you, yourself, your family, friends, and all people here on Earth are all blessings from GOD...well, this is my opinion regarding luck...i don't really believe in luck...it's good to have discussion like this...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

I don't believe that something like luck exists in this world of science and technology.Each one is responsible for his destiny and whatever happens with him/her.Even thinking about luck is a waste of time.Instead use that time to post on Mylot.Always,be practical never be in your dreamworld for more time,or your life will become hell.

Whilst I agree that Luck is just a crutch people lean on or an excuse people use, not everything that happens is ones own fault. If you are the victim of a crime, it is not bad luck, but bad behaviour by a criminal. It is also not your fault, but the fault of someone with little regard for others. Just because we discount luck, it doesn't mean that we are to blame for everything that happens to us - although it's true that someone somewhere probably is....

I have to disagree with you but let me tell you why before it makes you upset, ok? I have worked hard all of my life and od have bad luck. I see others who do not try hard or do anything to make their life better and alot of them do have all the luck.

I never belive in luck coz i has never turned to be gud for me but i wont ever speak against it coz luck is the basic part of every human they become happy if the luck is gud and viceversa...

Luck is there.If you consider your life then you will see that many things that have happened to you is not for any of your work .Like the family you born,the types of parents we got.Have you choosen them .No .Also in future whenyou will get married the life partner which you have .It may be that you will work towards making the relatinship work but if the person is bad.Isn't it luck.Many times we don't do a certain thing or don't go to a place & there is an accident.So isn't it Luck.You are comparing the luck with astrology.astrology is different.it cannot chage a persons Luck.whatever is to happen will happen.I agree with you that some people want to make maoney so they say these things.Yes hard work is important .There is no doubt.But you require the support of Luck.Can you explain so many unfornate people in our country who have no ffod & no cloths from birth.Why they are called unfortunates?

Even i dont believe in horoscopes and predictions.
But i do believe in luck. But no one can predict it. It just happens without prior warnings.
Hard work is the key to success. But, there is some luck added to it.
You being born in a well-off family itself is luck. You getting the care of your mom-dad, friends itself is luck.
Dont you think so?

Almost by definition, 'Luck' cannot exist, you may consider yourself lucky to find cash, but in reality, someone lost that money - the 'luck is counteracted by someone else's misfortune.
We often consider ourselves lucky when we actually have deserved our rewards through hard work. What we mean by luck is really happy co-incidence. It was not lucky that your favourite exam question came up, it was a happy coincidence that the examiner picked it.
It was not luck that won the lottery it was a happy coincidence which happened to coincide with all the other participants losing their money. Gamblers take calculated risks as do Bookmakers (who will offset their losses so that they can NEVER lose) - there is no luck, just some winners and many more losers...
I agree with you, relying on luck is relying on NOTHING since in actual fact, it is impossible for luck to exist.

i dont take part in lucky draws
even i found some thing from road then i dont use it on myself give to nearest mosque.
i dont believe on astrologist and palmist as i have firm believe that about Future only Allah know, u can only plan
but again Luck and fate are their. i believe in them and cant deny them
simple example
2 person with even qualification, equal experience, equal hardworking, both apply in same offices but one get job in multinationakl with good salary and fringe benefits while other got job in small local company
