Nope I haven't tried it but I don't think I can do it. Fruits are nutritious but they are incomplete in nutrients that would supply to our bodies needs. We would still need to eat other foods. There are lots of different ways to lose weight. Find a nutritionist to give you a list of foods you can eat while dieting.

My Martial Arts instructor (my first one) called it a fruit fast and recommended it for 1 day a month to clean you out.As far as I know, that's not a diet, it's a fast.

It doesn't sound like a sustainable diet to me. You've gotta be able to do it forever or the weight will just come back. I've allways heard that a pound or two a week is more realistic. What's the point of losing it if you gain it back?

Fruit diet is not very healty if thats the only thing u eat for three days! I tried many diets , but as far as i can tell , the best thing to do is to keep a balanced diet.
You should eat salad , fish , yogurt and all those foods that don't have many kcal. The secret is to eat in a moderate way , avoid sweets and eat regulary. If you only eat fruits for a long time , your tummy will get "used" to that and when u start eating normally again you'll regain all those pounds you lost..

Dear friend, Let me tell you honestly that I just cannot stick to any kind of diets, whether it is a fruit diet of just salads or just sea food........or even counting of calories.....I cannot take any diet seriously more then 2 to 3 days.......after that I come back to normal routine.................same is with sugar.......I keep using so sugar substitutes or honey or brown sugar for few days and then back to sugar as usual. I am fed up of myself, but what to do......I just don't have any control on myself.....lol I am sure there are lot of people like me.......so I can just sit back and smile........Have a nice day.

You know this could make you ill.
Where is the proetin and the barbs? Fruit alone just gives a sugar kick. You need carbs to sustain you with energy to go about your business for the day. And best to have acarbs that are not refined - so brown bread nit white, wholemeal pasta and brown rice rather than white. These release energy slowly to keep you going longer.
By al means eat lots of fruit but please don't neglect the other parts of your diet

Anyway,no matter you go on a diet or not, eating fruit a lot is good for our health. I eat fruits a lot every day.Have you heard of Natural Medicine. It advocates that eating fruit a lot is very useful for human body. The best way to eat fruit is to put fruits and green vegetables together and mix round, something like salad. But remeber not to add milk and egg.Natural Medicine opposes milk and egg.Natural Medicine comes from Japan,Asia. Though not so many people know about it,it is accpeted by more and more people in Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

i havent tried fruit diet, because i love to eat rice..i think you can still loose weight with a regular diet, just eat at the right time with a right amount of food, then lots of water, exercise can help too.. i love rice but still i did not gain much weight coz i see to it that if its really time of eating, i will eat so that i will not be able to eat much if i'm really hungry.. i can't stand fruit diet..

I'm not so conscious about my physical appearance. Not that I'm slim or sexy, but I could say that I'm contented with my body. After all, I'm already married and have one daughter. And as long as I'm healthy and not sick of anything, I'm happy with it.
But before I got married, I tried slimming down. I was too worried that my wedding gown won't fit me because I was thinner when we (my husband and I)bought it. I also tried eating more on fruits but I really can't stay away from our staple food which is rice. True enough, when I wore my gown, I was able to fit in it but I had a bit of a hard time breathing in it.

I am not a nutritionist, but just plain old logic tells me that you fall off this diet because your body is requiring other nutrients! Fruits do have a lot of sugars (fructose)... I can only answer that if it were me, I would get professional advice before I embarked on such a "singular" food intake.

Eating fruit all day long is no good its just not filling enough! I have never tried a fruit diet, but thats because their is not much fruit I really love enough to eat all day, and I would get bored of it too quickly, plus if I ate fruit all day long every day I would never be off the toilet!!!

I dont think eating fruit only will help loose weight because fruit contains more sugar than other food. And it is not healthy for you.Maybe your body will lack some nutrition because of the fruit diet.So try to find some balaced diet .Good luck:)

Oh can ladies or girls answer this discussion? :) I cannot afford to be on an all day fruit diet. Do not live in a tropical or sub tropical climate where you can pick fruit out of the garden or out of the tree all day. I have had fruit for a meal, but not all day. As it is, it is impractical. I mean it looks romantic picking apples off the tree and grapes off the vine, but for most of us in the Northern climates, the air is too cold and the only time we will have it is when we have to have a start to lose some weight or to clean ourselves out.

Eating lots of fruits is certainly good for you but I'm not sure eating ONLY fruits for any amount of time would be a good idea. For some it would be too much acid and could possibly cause stomach problems or allergic reactions. I think eating just fruits and vegetables might work better.

Only fruit diet will not reduce your weight. You have to do some physical exercises or Yoga to burn the calories. and the more important is that you should count the calories that you eat. it is better to take small quantity more times. I prefer you to take in the morning a glass of some juice and at 11 am you can take some gram sprouts add some salt and pepper for taste and in the afternoon have some good food usually what u eat. in the evening take some milk with cutted fruits and at night have chapathi with some curry to it.. try to do an hour daily (half hour morning and evening) exercise or yoga. in 15 days u can see the results and more important, u can watch ur stool will be somewhat oily it means that u started loosing wt

haha.. U'r wrong here.. It's not healthy to jus stick to fruits for whole day :) Even though fruits got lotsa nutrients and can make u full, but some minerals need to be trigger off when mixed with certain food to really bring out the max nutrients u can get from the fruit :) hehe
And if u really wanna be full, eat normal breakfast.. Because once u eaten breakfast, u will cut down on your snacks as well as your lunch wun be eating too much too :)
Thus, fruits will be able to last u for whole day including dinner :) hehe

I'm not on a fruit diet nor have I ever been, but I have to admit that it sounds very tempting just for the fact that I love fruit and don't think I could ever get enough of it. Of course, I agree with you when you say you need a full meal. I'm the same way. I can't just eat the same thing or types of things for very long before it gets boring. My brother loves to put fruit through his juicer machine. They taste really good like smoothies. He sometimes mixes a whole bunch of different fruits together. He also does carrot juice sometimes. Although fruit can become quite expensive, you could try that for your diet. I think the biggest problem with a fruit diet is that the body's food intake isn't balanced at all. You have to remember that fruits have a lot of natural sugars. If you eat all fruit, you're also eating a ton of sugar that has to be burned off. You're not getting the protein of eating your meats or the other nutrients you need from your veggies and breads. I think a true diet should be balanced between items from all of the different food groups. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best with your diet!
