I think that to love is more important than to be loved. If you love, then you are likely to be loved in return. If you are loved, then you will benefit far more from loving in return. Both are complementary, of course, but since we only have control over ourselves, then to love is more important.

I think you have to have both to be truly happy. If I loved someone, who didn't love me back, I'd be dissapointed. If i were loved by someone I had no feelings I think i'd feel uncomfortable. thankfully, I'm in a situation where I love someone, who loves me back :D But yeah to answere your question, either both or neither.

They both are equally important. If you have one without the other than it isn't really love and you are just wasting your time...both of you are.
