i had trouble sleeping the other night and it was really a bad timing because i was supposed to wake up early the next morning because i was about to go on a field work. i didn't know why i couldn't sleep that night but i think it was due to worry that i might be late the next day. ^__^;; and then, i couldn't sleep and i was becoming annoyed and even the slightest sound pissed me. it felt like i got angry for nothing at all. ^.^;; and poor niece of mine who was watching tv late that night, i breathed fire at her while telling her to shut the hell up and lower the volume of the tv and turn off all the lights. ^__^;; i don't know what time i finally slept that night. but i think it was already midnight and my worries came true. i was late for 30minutes the next morning. .

I am a night owl so I don't go to sleep until way after midnight.I guess the best thing to do when you can't sleep is to get up and read a book or watch that movie with your niece and just let your mind relax so you can fall asleep.I never have trouble because I stay up until I can't keep my eyes open.I am sorry you were late.

Bummer. I rarely have problems going to sleep. The last time it was because I had to get up real early like 4am to go on a trip. I usually go to bed at 4am so it was really hard.

Hi, a year before my nights were shattering, I couldn't sleep, couldn't stop think about a lot of matters of indifference.. My mornings were like travails, I didn't know what to do.. but I couldn't manage to take medicine too...didn't want to become walking corpse pumped up with chemistry.. One stranger said to me that my problem is the result of my lifestyle. He said that I must learn how to clean inside and clear up it. The first what I must do is don't let to penetrate others people problems into my minds.. I didn't understand exactly what he wanted.. Later I found. He kept in mind that when I watch a film or TV, give ear to somebody I outlive the disgrace with him/her/it and blacken my karma.. I must understand that I have only to hear or to watch but not to appropriate these problems or else I won't sleep off anymore, I'll become depressive, irritable, unhappy - he said. There is the way how to escape - need eliminate all infightings, internal walls, self-contradiction, anger, negative emotions, but each person must find itself method... I find mine, but can't tell because it is my untouchable zone there no-one could't damage with its minds (wouldn't send informative field accidentally). Maybe you have the same problem or maybe you don't understand me but it's ok:) I wish you find your method!

wow. that's really deep. you must be thinking a lot about everything. i don't think a lot when i'm going to sleep. as much as possible i don't think of anything because i want a good sleep. but there are times that i can't help thinking about what happened during the day or something that's worth thinking, but i make it a point to throw it out of my mind because i want a goodnight sleep! ^__^ and that night, i wasn't thinking about something. maybe just a little bit worried but i know its not the reason why i couldn't sleep. i guess someone out there was thinking of me so hard that it went to me and kept me awake. LOL

Oh my... your poor niece... i hope you apologized for venting your frustration at him... i do become very cranky when i don't get enough sleep... but i warn people beforehand... so that they won't get too personal or offended if i become too grouchy or cranky... So i usually refrain from drinking coffee or tea at night or anything with caffeine because i surely will not be able to sleep if i do...

hi aseretedd. i didn't apologize to my niece. why would i? ^__^;; i mean, even if i was able to sleep early that night, it is still unacceptable that she and her brother were staying sooo late and watching tv. they should be sleeping like normal growing teenagers do.

yeah, i did say "my poor nice", but in a sarcastic way. ^__^;; maybe i'm a little bit sorry but not really enough to make me feel guilty. if i have said it in a nice way they wouldn't obey me. ^__^

You did write here "my poor niece" so i thought you were sorry for what you did... and i think you would have noticed them watching tv if you were already sleeping soundly... aside for that... you can always tell them to go to bed in a nice manner... without hurting their feelings...

(unlike before that i really made a big fuss about people misunderstanding me ^__^;;). thanks kun. ^__^ happy myLotting!

You're not the only one that gets grumpy from lack of sleep. My kids and hubby actually try to find something to do somewhere else when I'm like that. Even my poor kitties catch what for if I haven't had enough sleep. I'm just not a very nice person during those times I guess. ;-)

If I don't get enough sleep and I'm sick, then yes, I'm grouchy and grumpy. If I'm healthy, then I usually go through different stages including goofy and hallucinating.

Well sorry for you my freind! It sometimes happens with me too. I am also not able to sleep when I know that I have to wake up early in the morning. At that time I feel banging my head in the wall when I cannot sleep. I think it happens due to the tension I take about waking up early in the morning, as a result my sleep gets spoiled. I have noticed it many times, when I know that I dont have to wake up early in the morning, I am able to sleep more compfortabely and deeply. But, the day I have to wake up earlier than I always used to, I am not able to sleep at all.... It also happens with me when I sleep with my stomach empty. Sometimes, I just come to my home and go to my bed without having dinner or some snacks. As a result, my stomach forces me to wake me up at night and then I find something to eat. So, I think you want to sleep freely without any disturbance, just fill your stomach a little bit before going to bed and try to sleep without any tensions.....

i am very grouchy when i can't sleep...it is never because i can;t sall asleep on my own, it is because my wonderful children do not sleep!! the baby gets up 3-6 times a night...it usually takes more than 3 tries to get the older one to actually stay in bed and fall asleep.

I feel that my knees have no strength if I lack sleep. Its really hard to focus on the thing I do at work. Sometimes I feel numbness on my feet most especially if I only have 3 hours of sleep. But it seldom happens when I have about 3 hours or no sleep at all. Though despite me having lack of sleep, I always have the tendency to wake up in my normal wake up time.

Yes I do! I yell at anyone who gets to 3 feet of me. And when I haven't got any sleep, the rest of the family beware and be on their best behaviour. You don't want to be in my bad books all day and all because 'I' couldn't sleep well! Poor son of mine is usually at the recieving end, followed by my husband who comes to save him from mummy's wrath...lol

It is probable for me to get annoyed and irritated if I am disturbed in the night by some disgusting noises continuously, especially when I need sufficient sleep for proper rest if the following day I need to wake up early. Having insufficient sleep I definitely will feel tired and couldn’t do any work properly on the following day.

If there's something important for me to do the next morning, then I would do the same thing you did. At least it has a reason, a very good one to say the least. People here in our house knows that when I sleep early from the usual, there could be something from me or that I have something else to do the next morning. So when that happens, the only noise I could hear comes from my 5 year old niece who knows that she's the only one I wouldn't give a "tiger look" at!LoL

There are times when I sleep late thus giving me only a couple of hours of sleep. There are also times when I really can't sleep at all. I easily get irritated when I don't have enough sleep. It makes me grouchy and cranky... big time!

When I can't sleep at night, I'll do either of a few things. I'll try to stay up and do something productive with my time - such as read a book, do my work etc, until I get tired enough. Or I might actually do some exercise. While exercise would pump up your adrenalin levels on the most part, which might actually leave you awake even more, they also make you tired after the adrenalin subsides, which can be pretty fast or slow. For me, I get tired. :) So it makes me sleepy. Or you could eat something or drink milk, although this does not make for very healthy results in the long run. Of course, there is also the option of doing the good old roll in the sack. :) I've found that tossing and turning in bed does not get me to sleep at all and yes it does leave you frustrated sometimes. That's why I prefer to do something else other than that, something that would make me tired enough to sleep.
