hi, Please check the memory capacity which was utlising when system is getting hangup in taskbar if it is crossing the limit it is better to increase the ram capacity and if it is not the problem plz update your antivirus and run antivirus scan once per day and put scheduled scan weekly once for your system then yur problem will rectified. if u r running windows xp - u should have 256 mb ram.update your antivirus and do a full system scan. press ctrl+alt+del this will open task manager, go to performance , see what process is using cpu heavily.
