Filament bulb or vapourised lights

Do you prefer to use a dull filament bulb or a bright vapourised bulb. Normally we prefer a bright tube light or some other vapourised bulb, but doctors say that filament bulbs are less harmful to eyes than vapourised bulbs. Is it the reason that most of us use spectacles at a very young age?
